Vážení příznivci modulární architektury,

držíte v rukou první KOMA Bulletin v roce 2016. Toto číslo jsme věnovali KOMA inovacím a faktorům, které naši společnost odlišují a dělají z ní autentickou a inovativní firmu v oblasti modulární výstavby. Za většinu inovací vděčíme vám, našim obchodním partnerům, protože právě od vás máme důvěru a příležitosti, dělat modulární výstavbu jinak. Tomuto tématu se v bulletinu 16 věnujeme ve speciální příloze.

Dále bych vás rád upozornil na článek, věnující se architektonické soutěži na ideový návrh Jihočeské filharmonie z modulů. Jsem velmi potěšen, že se do soutěže přihlásilo na 30 soutěžících z celého světa. We have dedicated this issue to KOMA innovations and factors that set KOMA apart and make it an authentic and innovative company in the field of modular construction. We owe most of our innovations to you, our business partners, as it is you who give us the trust and opportunities to do modular construction differently. We have devoted a special insert in bulletin 16 to this topic.

Further, I would like to draw your attention to an article about the architectural competition for ideas for the design of a modular concert hall for the Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia. I am very pleased that as many as 30 competitors from all over the world entered the competition. I believe that not only the winning design by the Chilean architecture student Rodrigo Vargas will capture your imagination and perhaps even inspire you to create some special modular architecture. And if you are interested in learning about how the competition jurors Joseph di Pascal from Italy and Caroline Bijvoet from the Netherlands view modular architecture, you can watch a video documentary that can be found on the KOMA YouTube channel or KOMA Modular’s Facebook page.

Sie halten den ersten KOMA Bulletin für das Jahr 2016 in den Händen. Diese Ausgabe widmeten wir den KOMA Innovationen und den Faktoren, die unsere Gesellschaft unterscheiden und eine authentische und innovative Firma auf dem Gebiet des Modular-Ausbaus aus ihr machen. Die meisten Innovationen verdanken wir Ihnen, unseren Geschäft-spartnern, weil wir gerade Ihr Vertrauen und die Gelegenheit haben, den Modular-Ausbau anders zu machen. Diesem Thema widmen wir uns im Bulletin 16 in einem speziellen Anhang.

Program KOMA for World počítá s jedním realizovaným projektem v každém roce. V roce 2015 se jednalo o výstavbu bydlení pro rodiny postižené válečným konfliktem na východě Ukrajiny. Druhý projekt humanitárního programu KOMA for World bude realizován v Moldavsku.

Humanitární program KOMA for World byl spuštěn v roce 2015 v úzké spolupráci s Diakonií Českobratrské církve evangelické. Nedaleko Kyjeva na Ukrajině postavila naše sesterská společnost KOMA Space modulární stavby, které pomáhají rodinám z východní Ukrajiny. Tam ozbrojený konflikt vyhnal z domovů až 2 miliony lidí, kteří se vydali hledat bezpečnější území. Druhým projektem je pomoc v podobě dodávky modulárního objektu, který bude sloužit jako obchod s připojeným temperovaným skladem pro malou biofarmu v Moldavsku, které trpí rozpadem ekonomiky.

„Cílem programu KOMA for WOLRD je posílit samostatnost a odpovědnost vybraných organizací, aby mohly dlouhodobě poskytovat kvalitní služby na místní úrovni. Celý projekt organizačně zajišťuje rakouská společnost KOMA Space, která se na humanitární projekty specializuje,“ přibližuje marketingový ředitel KOMA Modular Martin Hart.

The KOMA for World program intends to implement one project each year. In 2015, it was the construction of apartments for families affected by the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. The second project of the humanitarian project KOMA for World will be carried out in Moldavia.

The humanitarian program KOMA for World was launched in 2015 in close cooperation with the Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. The sister company, KOMA Space, built modular apartment buildings near Kiev, Ukraine, aimed at helping families from Eastern Ukraine, where up to 2 million people have been forced to leave their homes in search of a safer place to live. Another project is to provide aid in the form of a modular building that will serve as a shop with an adjoining air-conditioned warehouse for a small organic farm in Moldavia, which suffers from a dysfunctional economy.

“The aim of the KOMA for WORLD program is to empower the independence and responsibility of selected organizations so that they can provide quality local services over the long term. The entire project is organized by the Austrian company KOMA Space, which specializes in humanitarian projects,” explains KOMA Modular’s Marketing Director, Martin Hart.

Das Programm KOMA for World rechnet jedes Jahr mit einem realisierten Projekt. Im Jahre 2015 handelte es sich um den Ausbau von Wohnungen für Familien, die durch Kriegskonflikte im Osten der Ukraine betroffen sind. Das zweite Projekt des humanitären Programms KOMA for World wird in Moldavien realisiert.

Das humanitäre Programm KOMA for World startete im Jahre 2015 in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Diakonie der evangelischen Kirche der Böhmischen Brüder. In der Ukraine baute die Schwesternge-sellschaft KOMA Space unweit von Kiew modulare Bauten, die Familien aus der Ost-Ukraine helfen. Dort wurden 2 Millionen Menschen gezwungen ihre Häuser zu verlassen und ein sichereres Gebiet zu suchen. Das zweite Projekt ist die Hilfe in Form von der Lieferung eines modularen Objektes, das als Geschäft mit angeschlossenem temperiertem Lager für eine kleine Biofarm in Moldawien dienen soll, das an ökonomischem Zerfall leidet.

“Das Ziel des Programms KOMA for WORLD ist es die Selbstständigkeit und Verantwortung der ausgesuchten Organisationen zu verstärken, damit sie langfristig einen qualitativen Dienst auf hiesigem Niveau leisten können. Das ganze Projekt gewährleistet organisatorisch die österreichische Gesellschaft KOMA Space, die sich auf humanitäre Projekte spezialisiert.” erklärt der Marketingdirekor KOMA Modular Martin Hart.

Vizovická společnost KOMA Modular, která byla založena před 24 lety, získala v konkurenci více než 3 000 firem titul Firma roku 2015. Prestižnější firemní ocenění se v České republice získat nedá.

Ještě nedávno byla oblast modulární výstavby a architektury vnímána jen jako výstavba pomocí stavebních buněk. Z modulů se stavěly pouze nehezké ubytovny pro sociálně slabé občany. Tak to aspoň vnímala veřejnost, byť již před lety KOMA Modular stavěla celou řadu zajímavých staveb, nicméně tyto stavby byly realizovány zejména v zahraničí, což v České republice ve vnímání veřejnosti zase až takovou roli nehraje. Nyní se z KOMA modulů staví nízkoenergetické či pasivní domy, luxusní sportovní zázemí, designové showroomy, a CITY moduly najdete na těch nejvý-znamnějších kulturních akcích ve veřejném prostoru v České republice. Přesto se dá za zlomový rok v dočasné historii společnosti KOMA označit rok 2015.

pavilon. Tento pavilon získal celou řadu ocenění a pochopitelně se o něj začala zajímat také média. Z technologického hlediska se jednalo o výjimečný počin. Proces výstavby, logistika, rychlost výstavby i rychlost uvedení pronajaté parcely do původního stavu, kvalita architektury, zájem návštěvníků, budoucí sekundární využití pavilonu, to vše velikou měrou změnilo vnímání modulární architektury českou veřejností a pochopitelně také porotou, která vybírala Firmu roku 2015.

Je zjevné, že se široká veřejnost s modulární výstavbou a architekturou musí ještě více seznámit, nicméně ocenění Firma roku 2015 ukazuje i to, že v České republice máme výrobce modulů a stavitele modulárních staveb, kteří nacházejí uplatnění po celém světě.

Pro management společnosti KOMA se toho však moc nemění. Ocenění Firma roku 2015 je pro společnost KOMA pochopitelně významné, ale mnohem významnější je fakt, že jsme se k ocenění dopracovali zejména díky našim obchodním partnerům. Ti nám důvěřovali dávno před tím, než si společnosti KOMA všimla porota soutěže Firma roku či široká veřejnost. Důvěra je v podnikání zcela zásadním faktorem a my věříme, že jsme vloženou důvěru vždy dokázali (a i v budoucnu dokážeme) splatit kvalitní prací.

In the tough competition between 3,000 companies, the Vizovice-based KOMA Modular Company, which was established 24 years ago, received the Company of the Year 2015 Award. There is no more prestigious award for a company in the Czech Republic.

Until recently, modular construction and architecture were viewed only as construction using prefabricated portacabins. Unattractive lodging houses for low-income people were built using these modules. At least that is how the public perceived it, although years ago KOMA Modular had built a number of interesting buildings. However, these were realized mostly abroad, so did not play much of a role in public perception in the Czech Republic. Nowadays, KOMA modules are used in building energy-efficient or passive houses, luxurious sporting facilities and design showrooms, and CITY modules can be found at the most prominent cultural events in public spaces throughout the Czech Republic. Still, the turning point in the history of the KOMA Company so far has been the year 2015.

In 2015, the EXPO World Fair was held in Milan, for which KOMA supplied the Czech modular pavilion. This pavilion received a number of awards and obviously also attracted the attention of the media. From the technological perspective, it was a unique

undertaking. The construction process, logistics, the speed of its construction as well as the speed at which the rented property was returned to its original state, the quality of architecture, the interest of visitors, the subsequent use of the structure… All this has largely altered the perception of the Czech public, and obviously also the jury which chose the company of the year 2015.

It is clear that the general public needs to get better acquainted with modular construction and architecture; however, the Company of the Year 2015 Award points to the fact that in the Czech Republic we have a manufacturer of modules and a construction company specializing in modular buildings that find their use throughout the world.

None of this means any major changes for KOMA’s management. Of course, the Company of the Year 2015 Award is a significant achievement, but what is much more significant is the fact that we received this recognition mainly because of our business partners, who trusted us long before KOMA was noticed by the jury of the Company of the Year competition or the general public. Trust is the underlying factor in business and we believe that we have always managed and will continue to manage to repay this trust with quality work.

Die Vizovicer Gesellschaft KOMA Modular, die vor 24 Jahren gegründet wurde, erhielt in der Konkurrenz von mehr als 3000 Firmen den Titel Firma des Jahres 2015. Eine prestigere Auszeichnung kann man in der Tschechischen Republik nicht erhalten.

Noch vor kurzem wurde das Gebiet des modularen Ausbaus und Architektur nur als Ausbau mit Hilfe von Bauzellen wahrgenommen. Aus Modulen wurden nur unschöne Unterkünfte für sozial schwache Bürger gebaut. So nahm es jedenfalls die Öffentlichkeit war, obwohl KOMA Modular schon vor Jahren eine Reihe interessanter Bauten baute, doch diese Bauten wurden vor allem im Ausland realisiert und das spielt in der Wahrnehmung der Öffentlichkeit keine so große Rolle. Nun werden in KOMA Modular energiesparende oder passive Häuser, luxuriöse Sportumfelder, De-sign-Showrooms und CITY Module gebaut, die Sie auf den bedeutendsten kulturellen Veranstaltungen auf öffentlichen Räumen in der Tschechischen Republik finden können. Trotzdem kann man das Jahr 2015 in der jetzigen Geschichte der Gesellschaft KOMA als Umbruchsjahr bezeichnen.

Im Jahre 2015 fand die Weltausstellung EXPO in Mailand statt, wohin KOMA den Tschechischen modularen Pavillon lieferte. Dieser Pavillon erhielt eine Reihe von Auszeichnungen und natürlich fingen auch die Medien an, sich für ihn zu interessieren.

Aus technologischer Sicht handelte es sich um einen außergewöhnlichen Akt. Der Prozess des Aufbaus, der Logistik, der Schnelligkeit des Ausbaus und auch die Schnelligkeit bei der Versetzung der gemieteten Parzelle in ihren ursprünglichen Zustand, die Qualität der Architektur, das Interesse der Besucher, das zukünftige sekundäre Nutzen des Pavillons….Dies alles veränderte in großem Ausmaß die Wahrnehmung der Tschechischen Öffentlichkeit und natürlich auch der Jury, die die Firma des Jahres 2015 aussuchte.

Es ist offensichtlich, dass sich die breite Öffentlichkeit mit der modularen Architektur noch mehr vertraut machen muss, nichtsdestotrotz der Preis Firma des Jahres 2015 zeigt auch, dass wir in der Tschechischen Republik Hersteller von Modulen und Bauleiter von modularen Bauten haben, die auf der ganzen Welt Anwendung finden.

Für das Management der Gesellschaft KOMA ändert sich aber nicht viel. Die Auszeichnung Firma des Jahres 2015 ist für die Gesellschaft KOMA natürlich bedeutend, aber noch bedeutender ist die Tatsache, dass wir uns zu der Auszeichnung mit Hilfe von unseren Geschäftspartnern durchgearbeitet haben. Diese haben uns lange davor vertraut, bevor die Jury des Wettbewerbes Firma des Jahres oder die breite Öffentlichkeit, die Gesellschaft KOMA bemerkt haben. Das Vertrauen ist beim Unternehmen ein ganz wichtiger Faktor und wir sind davon überzeugt, dass wir das erhaltene Vertrauen immer erfüllen konnten und dass wir es auch in Zukunft mit hochwertiger Arbeit zurückzahlen können.

V březnu letošního roku KOMA vypsala ideovou studentskou architektonickou mezinárodní soutěž na návrh víceúčelové budovy Jihočeské filharmonie v Českých Budějovicích. Mezinárodní porota vybírala z 30 projektů, které přišly doslova z celého světa.

Jihočeskou filharmonii z Českých Budějovic již léta trápí, že nemá pro svou činnost adekvátní zázemí. Proto v roce 2008 vznikl projekt Rejnok od světoznámého architekta českého původu Jana Kaplického. Tento projekt však není v kontextu Českých Budějovic ekonomicky udržitelný. I proto se KOMA rozhodla, že ve spolupráci s městem

Modulární filharmonie nemusí být fikcíČeské Budějovice a Jihočeskou filharmonií vypíše studentskou mezinárodní soutěž, která by mohla alespoň v ideové rovině nabídnout možné alternativní řešení. Tématem bylo navrhnout modulární komplex Jihočeské komorní filharmonie s variabilním sálem až pro 1 000 diváků v kombinaci s otevřenou scénou pro venkovní koncerty pod širým nebem s komfortním zázemím.

Posuďte sami, zda by oceněné návrhy mohly uspět i v reálném provozu.

3. místo získal projekt Tomáše Jelínka, studenta Fakulty stavební ČVUT v Praze, který je podle poroty skvěle vyvážený ve všech aspektech a hodnocených kritériích. Objemy hmot jsou dobře navrženy vzhledem k okolní zástavbě. Velikost otevřeného prostranství se zdá dobře korespondovat s velikostí města. Projekt je efektivně zpracován ve smyslu využití modulárních technologií, které dobře začleňuje do specifického urbanistického kontextu.

2. místo získal tandem studentů z Fakulty architektury VUT v Brně ve složení Martin Kůs a Pavel Čučka. Porota ocenila originalitu urbanistického konceptu. Umístění koncertního sálu využívá v maximální míře oddělení od dopravní tepny. Jako jediný tento návrh počítá se skutečným vnitroblokem, kterým uzavírá starý obytný komplex na severní straně pozemku.

A 1. místo? To putuje do hlavního města Chile Santiaga, do rukou studenta architektury Rodriga Vargase. Podle poroty projekt vychází z pozoruhodného architektonického plánu inspirovaného historickým rozvržením plánu města. Projekt byl velmi dobře prezentován a jasně oddělil hlavní jádro vlastního sálu od vedlejších prostor a zázemí. Porota ocenila nejen tuto separaci, ale také způsob, jakým obě části chytře pracují s modulární architekturou. Budova může být snadno modifikována a s ohledem na budoucí potřeby a nároky rozšířena, například připojováním dalších modulů.

In March this year, KOMA announced a student architectural competition of ideas for the design of a multi-purpose building for the Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. An international jury made its selection from a total of 30 projects which literally came from all over the world.

For years, the Philharmonic Orchestra in České Budějovice has been troubled by not having a suitable building for its activities. That is also the reason why in 2008 the Stingray project was put forth by the world-famous architect of Czech descent, Jan Kaplický. However, this project was not economically sustainable in the context of České Budějovice. That was one of the reasons why KOMA decided, in cooperation with the City of České Budějovice and the Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia, to announce an international student

competition that could at least theoretically offer an alternative solution. The task was to design a modular complex for the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia with a variable concert hall for an audience of up to 1,000 people, in combination with an open-air stage for outdoor concerts with the necessary comfortable backstage facilities.

See for yourselves whether the awarded designs can succeed in reality.

Third place went to Tomáš Jelínek, a student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, for his design which according to the jury is well-balanced in all aspects and assessment criteria. The material volume is well designed and proportionate to the surrounding buildings. The size of the open space seems to correspond well with the size of the city. The design is efficient in terms of the use of modular technologies, which it incorporates well into the specific urbanistic context.

Second place was awarded to a pair of students from the Faculty of Architecture at the Brno University of Technology, Martin Kůs and Pavel Čučka. The jury recognized the originality of their urbanistic concept. The location of the concert hall is furthest from the main thoroughfare. Theirs was the only design to feature an actual inner courtyard, which would close in on the old residential complex on the northern side of the property.

First place went to architecture student Rodrigo Vargas from Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile. According to the jury, his design is based on a remarkable architectural plan inspired by the historical layout of the city. The design was very well presented and clearly separates the main core of the concert hall itself from the adjoining spaces and backstage facilities. The jury recognized not only this separation, but also the smart manner in which the two parts work with modular architecture. The building can easily be modified with respect to any future needs and demands and, for example, expanded with additional modules.

A modular philharmonic hall need not be fiction

Im März diese Jahres schieb KOMA einen internationalen architektonischen Ideen-Wettbewerb aus für den Entwurf eines Mehrzweckgebäudes der Südböhmischen Philharmonie in Budweis. Die internationale Jury wählte aus 30 Projekten aus, die buchstäblich aus der ganzen Welt kamen.

Die Südböhmische Philharmonie in Böhmen beschäftigt schon seit Jahren, dass sie für ihre Tätigkeit kein entsprechendes Umfeld hat. Auch deshalb entstand im Jahre 2008 das Projekt Rejnok (Rochen) von dem Weltbekannten Architekten Tschechischer Herkunft Jan Kaplický. Dieses Projekt ist aber im Kontext von Budweis nicht ökonomisch haltbar. Auch deshalb entschied sich KOMA, dass sie in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Budweis und der Südböhmischen Philharmonie einen internationalen Studentenwettbewerb ausschreibt, der wenigstens

im Ideenrahmen eine mögliche alternative Lösung anbieten könnte. Thema war es einen modularen Komplex für die Südböhmische Philharmonie zu entwerfen, mit einem variablen Saal für bis zu 1.000 Zuschauer in Kombination mit einer offenen Szene für Freilichtkonzerte unter freiem Himmel mit unentbehrli-chem komfortablem Umfeld.

Beurteilen Sie selbst, ob die Preis-Entwürfe im realen Betrieb Erfolg haben könnten.

Den 3. Platz belegte das Projekt von Tomáš Jelínek, einem Studenten der Baufakultät der ČVUT in Prag, das der Jury nach sehr gut in allen Aspekten und den bewerteten Kriterien ausgeglichen ist. Die Volumen der Stoffe sind gut mit Hinsicht auf die umliegende Bebauung entworfen, die Größe des offenen Platzes scheint gut mit der Größe der Stadt zu korrespondier-en. Die Platzierung des Konzertsaales nutzt im maximalen Ausmaß die Abtrennung von der Verkehrsader aus. Dieses Projekt rechnet als einziges mit dem wirklichen Innenblock, mit dem es den alten Wohnkomplex auf der Nordseite des Grundstücks abschließt.

Und der 1. Platz? Dieser geht an die Hauptstadt in Chile, Santiago de Chile, in die Hände des Ar-chitekturstudenten Rodrigo Vergas. Der Jury nach entspringt das Projekt aus einem beeindruckenden architektonischen Plan, der aus der historischen Aufteilung des Stadtplans ausgeht. Das Projekt wurde sehr gut präsentiert und teilte klar den Hauptkern des eigentlichen Saals von den Nebenräumen und dem Umfeld ab. Die Jury erkannte nicht nur diese Separation ab, aber auch die Art, mit der beide Teile klug mit der modularen Architektur arbeiten. Das Gebäude kann einfach modifiziert werden mit Hinsicht auf die zukünftigen Bedürfnisse und Ansprüche und kann zum Beispiel durch das Anschließen weiterer Module erweitert werden.

CITY moduly opět uspěly! Tentokrát v záři festivalových reflektorů na mezinárodním filmovém festivalu v Karlových Varech.

V tomto čísle bulletinu si o CITY modulech přečtete na několika místech, nicméně pokud bychom měli vyzdvihnout CITY moduly na nejvýznamnější kulturní akci, musíme vybrat instalaci showroomu luxusních automobilů BMW v rámci karlovarského filmového festivalu.

Architektonický koncept BMW Lounge navrhlo studio Olgoj Chorchoj, Designér roku 2015, nedávno oceněné prestižní cenou Red Dot Award, ve spolupráci se studiem CMC Architects, jedním z největších architektonických ateliérů působícím v České republice. Spojení těchto špičkových architektů a designérů se špičkovými automobily a našimi CITY moduly, navíc v kontextu takto významné kulturní akce, jakou je filmový festival kategorie A v lázeňských Karlových Varech, je pro KOMA významnou událostí.

Pokud chceme modulární architekturu posouvat dále, nesmíme se bát výzev. KOMA Modular při vývoji CITY modulů porušila zaběhnuté pravé úhly modulů

a vydala se do neznáma. Po několika málo letech se ukazuje, že to byl skvělý krok, protože lichoběžníkové CITY moduly dokážou oslovit širokou veřejnost. Právě tyto akce ve veřejném prostoru tomu pomáhají nejvíce.

Cílem konceptu showroomu bylo zaměření na budoucnost. V expozici BMW Lounge tak návštěvníci viděli poprvé v České republice např. vrcholné dvanáctiválcové BMW M760Li Individual, BMW i8 Protonic Red, automobily BMW M, stejně jako koncept motocyklu BMW Concept 101. Dá se tedy říci, že budoucnost v modulární architektuře v podobě CITY modulů prezentovala budoucnost značky BMW. Ideální spojení.

Tradiční místo prezentace BMW na MFF KV před historickou budovou lázní bylo tedy letos obohaceno o masivní industriální konstrukci z ocelových profilů a CITY modulů. Spektakulární geometrická struktura se tyčila před budovou lázní a vyčnívala do zeleného parku. Celý objekt byl přístupný po kovovém schodišti tak, aby bylo možné přiblížit se k limuzínám vystaveným v horních patrech nebo navštívit kavárnu v nejvyšším podlaží s krásným výhledem do okolí. Syrové materiálové zpracování vyzdvihovalo eleganci a dokonalost křivek vystavených vozů.

CITY modules succeed again! This time in the spotlight at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

In this issue of the Bulletin, you can read about CITY modules in several articles; however, if we had to point out the most significant cultural event where CITY modules were used, it would be the installation of the luxurious showroom of BMW cars.

The architectural concept of the BMW Lounge was designed by the studio Olgoj Chorchoj, Designer of the Year 2015 and recently the recipient of the prestigious Red Dot Award, in cooperation with the studio CMC Architects, one of the largest architectural studios operating in the Czech Republic. The association of these top architects and designers with state-of-the-art cars and our CITY modules, and on top of that in the context of such a significant cultural event like the category A film festival in the spa town of Karlovy Vary, was a major event for KOMA.

If we want to push forward modular architecture, we mustn’t be afraid of challenges. In developing its CITY modules, KOMA Modular abandoned the traditional right angles of modules and stepped off the beaten track. Several years later, this has proven to be a great move, as the trapezoid-shaped

CITY modules have a way of attracting the general public. And it is these types of events that are most conducive to this in the public space.

The aim of the showroom concept was to focus on the future. In the BMW Lounge exhibition, visitors could for the first time in the Czech Republic see, e.g., the supreme BMW M760Li Individual with a twelve-cylinder engine, BMW i8 Protonic Red, MBW M cars as well as a mockup of the BMW Concept 101 motorcycle. It could be said that the future of modular architecture in the form of CITY modules was presented by the future of the BMW brand – the ideal combination.

This year, the traditional place where BMW presents its products at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, i.e., in front of the historical Spa building, was enhanced by the massive industrial construction made up of steel profiles and CITY modules. The spectacular geometric structure was erected outside the spa building and protruded into the green park. The entire structure was accessible by a metal staircase so that it would be possible to get to the limousines on display on the upper levels or visit the café situated on the top floor, which offered a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The coarse material look underscored the elegance and perfect curves of the automobiles on display.

In dieser Ausgabe des Bulletins werden Sie an mehreren Stellen über CITY Module lesen, wenn wir die CITY Module dennoch auf der bedeutendsten Kulturveranstaltung betonen wollten, müssten wir die Installation des Showrooms für die Luxuswagen von BMW aussuchen.

Das architektonische Konzept der BMW Lounge entwarf das Studio Olgoj Chorchoj, Designer des Jahres 2015, vor kurzem mit dem Red Dot Award ausgezeichnet, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Studio CMC Architects, einem der größten architektonischen Ateliers in der Tschechischen Republik. Die Verbindung dieser Spitzenarchitekten und Designer mit den Spitzenautos und unseren CITY Modulen und noch dazu im Kontext einer so bedeutenden Kulturveranstaltung, wie dem Filmfestival der Kategorie A in der Kurstadt Karlsbad, ist für KOMA ein bedeutendes Ereignis.

Wenn wir die Modulare-Architektur weiter bringen wollen, dürfen wir keine Herausforderungen fürchten. KOMA Modular brach bei der Entwicklung der CITY Module die eingeführten rechten Winkel und begab sich ins Unbekannte. Nach ein paar Jahren zeigt sich, dass dies ein toller Schritt war, weil die Trapez CITY

Module eine breite Öffentlichkeit ansprechen können. Gerade diese Veranstaltungen auf öffentlichen Plätzen helfen dem am meisten.

Ziel des Konzeptes von Showrooms war die Orientierung auf die Zukunft. In der Exposition BMW Lounge sahen die Besucher also z.B. den Spitzen-Zwölfzylinder BMW M760Li Individual, BMW i8 Protonic Red, die Automobile BMW M, genauso wie das Konzept des Motorrades BMW Concept 101 zum ersten Mal in der Tschechischen Republik. Man kann also sagen, dass die Zukunft in der modularen Architektur in Form von CITY Modulen die Zukunft der Marke BMW präsentierte. Was für eine ideale Verbindung.

Der traditionelle Präsentationsplatz des BMW auf dem MFF KV vor dem historischen Gebäude des Bades wurde also dieses Jahr bereichert um die massive industrielle Konstruktion aus Stahlprofilen und CITY Modulen. Die spektakuläre geometrische Struktur erhob sich vor dem Kurbadgebäude und ragte in den grünen Park hinaus. Das ganze Objekt war durch eine Metalltreppe zugänglich, sodass man sich den in den oberen Etagen ausgestellten Limusinen nähern oder das Café im höchsten Stockwerk, mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf die Gegend, besuchen konnte. Die rohe Materialverarbei-tung unterstrich die Eleganz und Perfektion der Linien der ausgestellten Wagen.

01 Zlín Design Week představil unikátní KOMA LighthouseTýdenní festival z přelomu dubna a května 2016 se opět odehrával pod taktovkou studentů Fakulty multimediálních komunikací UTB ve Zlíně a nabídl množství různorodých akcí. KOMA Modular byla generálním partnerem celého festivalu, kam dodala 25 CITY modulů a osobitý dvoupodlažní objekt Lighthouse. Samotné CITY moduly byly k nalezení na třech místech – jedním z nich bylo náměstí Míru, zbylé byly rozmístěny v působivém areálu bývalých baťovských továren. Tam byl postaven také unikátní KOMA Lighthouse, který je výjimečný zejména tím, že se jedná o první dvoupodlažní budovu sestavenou ze CITY modulů.

Školící středisko VW v BratislavěSesterská společnost KOMA Slovakia stále rozšiřuje spolupráci s firmou Volkswagen a.s. Bratislava, které již řadu let pravidelně pronajímá modulární sestavy různého účelu. Tentokrát se jedná o dvoupatrovou sestavu 24 kontejnerů. Sestava je umístěna přímo uvnitř areálu společnosti VW – konkrétně haly H6b. Instalace probíhala pomocí vysokozdvižného vozíku a vzhledem k tomu, že hala nebyla zcela uzpůsobena pro manipulaci s takovým nákladem, musely se do haly udělat potřebné otvory. I přes poněkud složitější instalaci můžeme nyní říci, že je investor s novým školícím střediskem spokojen. Modulární výstavba tak i na tomto příkladě ukazuje, jak variabilní a rychlá je a to nejen u dočasných staveb.

02 Osobnost Tomáše Bati přibližuje putovní instalace CITY modulechPřed 140 lety se narodil Tomáš Baťa. Tento zakladatel světoznámé obuvnické značky a osvětový podnikatel a vizionář obohatil svět nejen výrobou bot, ale i unikátní starostí o své zaměstnance či výstavbou nejen města Zlína, který je dnes ceněným architektonickým a urbanistickým počinem. Putovní výstava s názvem BAŤA Road Show 2016, kterou pořádá nadace Tomáše Bati, má za cíl osobnost Tomáše Bati opět připomenout a to putovní výstavou. 03 Pavilon EXPO jako jedno z hlavních témat české ročenky architekturyV České republice každoročně vychází publikace Česká architektura. Poslední ročenka mapuje období 2014-2015 a o výběr realizací se tentokrát postarala editorka Jitka Ressová. Kniha se skládá ze tří kapitol. Hlavní z nich Stavby prezentuje 33 typologicky rozmanitých objektů s komentáři a úvodním rozhovorem editorky s Karolinou Jirkalovou. V kapitole Názor hovoří Petr Volf se Stanislavem Martincem a Ondřejem Chybíkem o českém pavilonu na Expo 2015 v Miláně. Třetí kapitola Faktografie přináší přehled událostí v oboru, ocenění vybraných osobností za celoživotní dílo, statistické přehledy a výsledky vybraných celostátních soutěží a soutěží spolupořádaných Českou komorou architektů. Kapitolu uzavírá seznam vydané a doporučené literatury a odborně zaměřených filmů. Dostat se do takovéto publikace v takovém rozsahu je pro KOMA veliký úspěch a uznání.

04 KOMA byla generálním partnerem panelové diskuze Architekti CZ ve ZlíněAkci Architekti CZ, hostil 11. dubna 2016 zlínský Baťův institut. Také vzhledem k regionu se mluvilo zejména o tradici a prefabrikaci jako o možných nástrojích architektury. Pro KOMA se jednalo nejen o výjimečné téma, které se přímo dotýká její činnosti, ale také o místo, kde se panelová diskuze předních českých architektů odehrávala. Zaplněné foyer kulturního komplexu 14ǀ15 se mohlo těšit na šestici architektů, kteří přijali pozvání k debatě. Na pódiu se sešli architekt a herec David Vávra, známý tvůrce sakrálních staveb Marek Štěpán či Svatopluk Sládeček, který proslul svými originálními domy. Nechyběla ani Jitka Ressová ze zlínského studia Ellement, kopřivnický architekt Kamil Mrva nebo Ondřej Chybík, jeden ze spoluautorů Českého pavilonu na loňské EXPO.

01 The unique KOMA Lighthouse introduced at Zlín Design WeekIn late April and early May 2016, the week-long festival was once again held in Zlín, organized by students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at Tomáš Baťa University, offering a number of various events. KOMA Modular was the general partner of the festival, where it presented 25 CITY modules and the unique 2-storey Lighthouse. The CITY modules themselves were on display in three locations, one of which was Peace Square; the others could be found on the remarkable premises of the former Baťa factories. That is also where the one-of-a-kind KOMA Lighthouse was erected. What makes it unique is mainly the fact that it is the first two-storey building made up of CITY modules.

VW training facility in BratislavaOur sister company, KOMA Slovakia, continues to expand its cooperation with the company Volkswagen a.s. Bratislava, which has regularly been renting modular sets for various purposes. This time it is a two-storey set built from 24 containers. The building is located directly inside the premises of the VW Company – specifically hall H6b. The installation was carried out by forklift truck and because the hall had not been designed to handle this type of load, it was necessary to make openings in the hall’s shell to allow the structure to be installed. Despite the rather complex installation, we can now say that the investor is satisfied with the new training facility. This is yet another example of how variable and quick modular construction is, and not only in temporary structures.

Foundation, is to remind and educate people about Tomáš Baťa. A mobile design CITY module was used for this purpose. Pavel Velev, Director of the Tomáš Baťa Foundation, adds: “We know that for some people Zlín may be too far to be attracted by the Baťa theme, but thanks to the use of a CITY module from KOMA this handicap is not an issue any more. Instead of people coming to see the Baťa exhibition in Zlín, the exhibition will come to them.”

03 The EXPO pavilion as one of the main topics of the Czech Architecture yearbookEvery year, the Czech Architecture yearbook is published in the Czech Republic. The most recent issue maps the period 2014-2015, and this time the selection of realizations was entrusted to editor Jitka Ressová. The publication consists of three chapters. The main one, Buildings, presents 33 various structures with comments and an introductory interview with Karolina Jirkalová. In the chapter Opinion, Petr Volf speaks to Stanislav Martinec and Ondřej Chybík about the Czech pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan. The third chapter, Facts, presents the news in the industry, awards for selected figures for their life’s work, statistical overviews and the results of selected nationwide competitions and competitions organized in association with the Czech Chamber of Architects. The third chapter concludes with a list of recommended publications and architecture-related films. To make it into this publication to such an extent is a great achievement and recognition for KOMA.

04 KOMA the general partner of the Architects CZ panel discussion in ZlínThe Architects CZ event was hosted by the Baťa Institute on April 11, 2016. Also because of the region, the topics of the discussion included tradition and prefabrication as the possible tools of architecture. What was exceptional for KOMA was not only the topic, which directly relates to the company’s activity, but also the location where the panel discussion by prominent Czech architects took place. The audience in the packed foyer of the 14ǀ15 cultural complex could look forward to a discussion by six architects who had confirmed their participation in the debate. The six architects included architect and actor David Vávra, the famous designer of sacred buildings Marek Štěpán, and Svatopluk Sládeček, who has gained fame for his original house designs. The remaining panelists were Jitka Ressová from the Zlín studio Ellement, the Kopřivnice-based architect Kamil Mrva and Ondřej Chybík, one of the co-designers of the Czech pavilion at last year’s EXPO.

01 Die Zliner Design Week stellte das unikale KOMA Lighthouse vorDas Wochenfestival am Übergang von April und Mai 2016 spielte wieder unter dem Takt der Studenten der multimedialen Kommunikationen UTB in Zlin und bot eine Menge an verschiedenen Aktionen. KOMA Modular war Generalpartner des ganzen Festivals, wohin sie 25 CITY Module und das individuelle Zwei-etagen-Objekt Lighthouse lieferte. Die eigenständigen CITY Module waren an drei Plätzen zu finden - einer davon war der Friedensplatz, die übrigen waren in dem wirkungsvollen Areal der ehemaligen Baťa Fabriken untergebracht. Dort war auch das unikale KOMA Lighthouse aufgebaut, das vor allem dadurch einzigartig ist, da es sich um das erste Zwei-etagen-Gebäude handelt, das aus CITY Modulen zusammengebaut wurde.

Schulungszentrum von VW in BratislavaDie Schwesterngesellschaft KOMA Slovakia erweitert ständig ihre Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma Volkswagen a.s. Bratislava (Preßburg), der sie bereits eine Reihe von Jahren regelmäßig modulare Komplexe vermietet. Diesmal handelt es sich um einen Zwei-etagen-Komplex von 24 Containern. Der Komplex ist direkt im Inneren des Areals der Gesellschaft VW aufgebaut - konkret in der Halle H6b. Die Installation verlief mit Hilfe eines Gabelstaplers und dank dessen, dass die Halle nicht ganz für eine Manipulation, mit so einer Last geeignet war, mussten benötigte Öffnungen in die Halle gemacht werden. Trotz der ein wenig komplizierteren Installation können wir nun sagen, dass der Investor mit dem neuen Schulungsz-entrum zufrieden ist. Der modulare Ausbau zeigt also auch auf diesem Beispiel, wie variabel und schnell er ist und das nicht nur bei temporären Bauten.

02 Die Wanderinstallation von CITY Modulen bringt die Persönlichkeit von Tomáš Baťa näher.Vor 140 Jahren wurde Tomáš Baťa geboren. Dieser Gründer der weltbekannten Schuhmarke und aufgeklärter Unternehmer und Visionär bereicherte die Welt nicht nur durch die Schuhherstellung, aber auch durch die unikale Sorge um seine Angestellten oder durch den Aufbau nicht nur in Zlin, was bis heute ein geehrter und urbanistischer Akt ist. Die Wanderausstellung mit dem Namen Baťa Road Show 2016, die die Stiftung von Tomáš Baťa veranstaltete, hat das Ziel an die Persönlichkeit von Tomáš Baťa zu erinnern. Für ihr Vorhaben benutzte sie ein leicht übertragbares und Designvolles CITY Modul. Pavel Velev, der Direktor der Stiftung von Tomáš Baťa sagt dazu: ”Wir wissen, dass Zlin für jemanden zu weit

weg sein kann, um vom Baťa-Thema angelockt zu werden, aber dank dem Verwenden der CITY Module der Firma KOMA wird dieses Handikap gelöscht. Anstatt dass die Leute hierher zu Baťa kommen, kommt er ihnen entgegen.”

03 Der EXPO Pavillon ist eines der Hauptthemen des tschechischen Jahrbuches der ArchitekturIn Tschechien erscheint jedes Jahr die Publikation Tschechische Architektur. Das letzte Jahrbuch erkundet den Zeitraum 2014-2015 und diesmal kümmerte sich die Editorin Jitka Ressová darum. Das Buch besteht aus drei Kapiteln. Das Hauptkapitel Bauten präsentiert 33 typologisch abwechslungsre-iche Objekte mit Kommentaren und einem Einleitungs-gespräch der Editorin mit Karolina Jirkalová. Im Kapitel Meinung spricht Petr Volf mit Stanislav Martinec und Ondřej Chybík über den tschechischen Pavillon auf der EXPO 2015 in Mailand. Das dritte Kapitel Faktografie bringt einen Überblick über Ereignisse aus dem Fach, die Auszeichnung ausgesuchter Persönlichkeiten für ihr Lebenswerk, statistische Übersichten und Ergebnisse ausgesuchter Staats-wettbewerbe und von den in Zusammenarbeit mit der Tschechischen Architekten Kammer veranstalteten Wettbewerben. Das Kapitel schließt die Liste der herausgegebenen und empfohlenen Literatur und fachlich orientierten Filmen ab. Teil so einer Publikation zu werden und das in so einem Ausmaß, ist für KOMA ein großer Erfolg und Anerkennung.

04 KOMA war Generalpartner der Panel-Dis-kussion Architekten CZ in ZlinDie Veranstaltung Architekten CZ, beherbergte am 11.April 2016 das Zliner Baťa Institut. Auch in Verbindung mit der Region sprach man überwiegend über Tradition und Präfabrikation als möglichen Werkzeugen der Architektur. Für KOMA handelte es sich nicht nur um ein außergewöhnliches Thema, das gerade mit ihrer Tätigkeit zusammenhängt, sondern auch um den Ort, an dem die Panel-Diskussion der führenden tschechischen Architekten stattfand. Das volle Foyer des Kulturkomplexes 14/15 konnte sich auf sechs Architekten freuen, die die Einladung zur Debatte annahmen. Auf der Bühne trafen sich der Architekt und Schauspieler David Vávra, der bekannte Schöpfer von sakralen Bauten Marek Štěpán oder Svatopluk Sedláček, der für seine originellen Häuser berühmt wurde. Es fehlte auch nicht Jitka Ressová aus dem Zliner Studio Ellement, der Kopřivnicer (Nesselsdorf) Architekt Kamil Mrva oder Ondřej Chybík, einer der Mitautoren des Tschechischen Pavillons auf der vorjährigen EXPO.

Jednou ze základních odlišností, kteráou firmu KOMA definuje, je standardní výroba rámů z výběrového žárově zinkovaného plechu. KOMA však v inovacích nevychází pouze z interních procesů firmy. Za řadu inovací vděčí svým zákazníkům, kterým mnohdy vyrábí speciální moduly na míru. Například sanitární moduly pro firmu TOI TOI & DIXI a ADCO jsou ukázkou případu, kdy individuální přístup a úzká spolupráce s klientem umožnila vytvořit luxusní a designově působivé mobilní toalety.

Díky spolupráci s architekty KOMA vyvinula například unikátní a patentovaný CITY modul. Tento modul je primárně určen ke krátkodobému pronájmu. Jeho instalace pak oživují městský veřejný prostor, filmové festivaly, festivaly designu, hudební a jiné kulturní akce.

Díky společenské odpovědnosti KOMA najdete CITY moduly také jako zázemí sportovních akcí či jako součást pojízdné instalace akcí jako jsou „Ostře sledovaná prsa“ Tento projekt ve veřejném prostoru upozorňuje na problematiku rakoviny prsu. Českobratrské církve evangelické, je primárně zaměřen na podporu rozvoje kapacit lokálních humanitárních organizací v oblastech zasažených válkou či jinou krizí. Prvním pilotním projektem KOMA for WORLD byla výstavba ubytovacího zařízení pro ukrajinskou organizaci Otchiy Dim (Otcův dům). Ta poskytuje pomoc rodinám bez domova, prchajícím z válkou zasaženého území východní Ukrajiny. Druhým projektem je dodávka modulárního objektu, který bude sloužit jako obchod s připojeným temperovaným skladem, pro samostatnou biofarmu v Moldavsku. Jedná se tedy o podporu lokálního zemědělství, tentokrát v jiné postsovětské republice.

V kontextu výše zmíněného je asi jasné, že se KOMA také zaměřuje na ekologicky udržitelnou výrobu. Tzv. green výroba zaručuje minimalizaci odpadů vznikajících při výrobě a montáži, a k tomu je potřeba pochopitelně ve výrobě využívat ty nejmodernější technologie. Tento způsob je nejen ekologický, ale pro zákazníka také ekonomicky výhodný. Klient totiž neplatí za vysoký podíl odpadů. Uhlíkovou stopu u výrobku však nelze sledovat jen ve výrobě.

Logistika je alfou a omegou kvalitní a ekologicky šetrné modulární výstavby. Promyšlená doprava, vysoká připravenost instalace modulů,

důsledné skladování, efektivní balení – to vše má vliv na zatížení stavební parcely a jejího okolí a bezproblémovou výstavbu. To, že jsme schopni dodávat moduly i do extrémních podmínek, dokazuje například doprava modulů jak po silnici, železnici či lodí, tak i vzduchem do těžko přístupných lokalit.

Kvalitní logistiku také využijí naši zákazníci při dodávce tzv. FlatPacků, tedy modulů dodaných v rozloženém stavu. Díky promyšlené logistice i konstrukčnímu řešení lze z FlatPacků realizovat i stavby většího rozsahu, jakou je např. administra-tivní budova v rotterdamské nemocnici Erasmus v Nizozemí. 82 modulů bylo dodáno způsobem FlatPack, tím byly náklady a nároky na dopravu výrazně sníženy a kancelářská budova o rozloze 1 476 m2 byla sestavena až na místě, přičemž od počátku výroby do předání stavby uběhlo pouze neuvěřitelných 12 týdnů.

A jsme-li u inovací v oblasti stavebně-konstrukč-ních vlastností KOMA modulů, musíme zmínit i využití betonových podlah. Tyto podlahy dodávají modulům mnohem vyšší pevnost i stabilitu a pochopitelně mají i kvalitnější stavebněkonstrukční vlastnosti.

KOMA také pro své moduly vyrábí vlastní fasády a dodává tak svým modulárním stavbám odlišný exteriérový vzhled. Co se týče interiérů, stojí za

to zmínit speciální instalace, jako jsou akustické stropy, požární stanice, nebo různorodá vnitřní schodiště. V obecné rovině lze nicméně říci, že se KOMA přímo soustředí na individuální přístup a inovace na míru.

Koneckonců i proto jsme mohli vyrobit, dodat a postavit oceňovaný český pavilon EXPO 2015, který v Miláně zaujal nejen svou architekturou (získal bronzovou medaili), ale zejména tím, že jeho výstavba byla superrychlá a navíc ekologická. Po skončení výstavy uvedla KOMA jako první ze všech pronajatý pozemek do původního stavu a pavilon převezla do České republiky, kde získá sekundární využití v podobě administrativní budovy sídla společnosti KOMA. V této budově KOMA také vybuduje nové Centrum modulární architektury.

Z výše zmíněného je zřejmé, proč KOMA dodává kvalitní modulární stavby do celého světa. A musíme říci, že jsme velmi rádi, že si toho všimli také v České republice, kde společnost KOMA získala velmi prestižní ocenění – Firma roku 2015 České republiky. Nezávislá porota vybírala vítěze z více než 3 000 přihlášených firem.

For almost 25 years, KOMA Modular has profiled itself as a company with a unique and authentic approach to modular construction. It all started with a vision and mission. Nowadays, KOMA is a leader in modular construction and architecture in the Czech Republic, the Company of the Year 2015 in the Czech Republic, the company that built the Czech EXPO 2015 pavilion in Milan, innovator in the field of modular construction, supplier of modular constructions around the world, organizer of international architectural competitions, and most importantly, a company that wants to make the world a better place.

Thinking and goals with a difference in the business plans of KOMA’s owner, Stanislav Martinec, are the fundamental building block in the development of the company, which has set for itself the goal of making the world a better place. The original Czech company from Vizovice has proudly embraced the legacy of Tomáš Baťa, who improved just about every area of social life in the Zlín Region, where the KOMA Modular headquarters are located. The ideas, business procedures, education, corporate responsibility, passion for architecture and innovations – all that defines the KOMA Company.

KOMA’s development is ensured as long as the principle of constant Innovations is adhered to. And KOMA is dedicated to consistently coming up with innovations. One of the underlying differences that sets KOMA apart is the standard production of frames from select galvanized sheet metal. Compared to most other modules used elsewhere in the world, all of KOMA’s modules ensure a considerably longer lifetime and superior corrosion resistance.

These also include the large-format module from the ComfortLine series. This module is sort of a Ferrari among modules and KOMA supplies it in various versions, with an emphasis on each individual project. That is why you will find a large-format module used as a golf facility with a beautiful facade made of heat-treated pine wood or as a company childcare center built from energy-efficient large-format modules. The latest realizations using ComfortLine modules include a modular diffusion-open family house. An interesting solution in terms of its construction is the glassed-in ComfortLine module without one of the corner supports.

KOMA’s innovations are not based solely on the company’s internal processes. A number of innovations can be attributed to the company’s customers, for some of whom KOMA produces special custom-made modules. For example, the Sanitary modules for the TOI TOI & DIXI and ADCO company are an example of an individual approach and close collaboration with the client, which has resulted in the creation of luxurious and impressive design mobile restrooms.

Another example of a special module produced in collaboration with one of KOMA’s customers is the explosion-proof module. KOMA’s portfolio includes modules with 1.3–8 Psi explosion resistance, which are designed to protect life in hazardous production facilities. These modules are most often used by companies in the oil and chemicals industries.

When it comes to innovations, the key factor for KOMA is also modular architecture itself and cooperation with architects. That is why KOMA is the leading popularizer of modular architecture in the Czech Republic. The company raises awareness of modular architecture both among the general public as well as experts through various activities, such as funding the publication of the book I Love Module by the Czech Technical University in Prague, organizing professional conferences on the topic of modular architecture, and organizing the ModulArch architectural competitions. For KOMA Modular, cooperation with architects is a key factor, as it is the only way modular constructions with actual added value can be realized.

CITY module. This module is primarily intended for short-term lease. Its installation enlivens public spaces in cities, at film festivals, design festivals and music and other cultural events.

Thanks to KOMA’s emphasis on corporate responsibility, CITY modules are also used for the purpose of sporting events and in the form of mobile installations at events such as the Breast Health Day, a campaign aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer. KOMA lends its modules free of charge in the form of sponsorship for various purposes, the flagship of KOMA’s CSR activities being the KOMA for World program.

KOMA for World is a humanitarian program managed by its sister company, KOMA Space. This program, created in close cooperation with the Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, is primarily aimed at supporting development of the capacity of local humanitarian organizations in war-stricken areas or places affected by various crises. The first pilot project of KOMA for WORLD was the construction of a housing facility for the Ukrainian organization Otchiy Dim (Father’s House). This charity provides assistance to families without a home who have fled the war-stricken territory in Eastern Ukraine. Another project is the supply of a modular structure that will be used as a shop with an adjoining air-conditioned warehouse for an independent organic farm in Moldavia. The project intends to support local agriculture, this time in another post-Soviet republic.

In the context of the above, it is clear that KOMA will also focus on environmentally-sustainable production. So-called green production ensures

the minimization of waste during production and assembly, for which it is necessary to use cutting-edge technologies. This is not only environ-mentally friendly, but also economically convenient for the customer, as there is a minimum of wastage to be paid for by the client. However, the carbon footprint can be determined not only in production.

Logistics is the alpha and omega of quality and environmentally-friendly modular construction. Well thought-out transportation, the high level of preparedness of modules for installation, consistent storage and efficient packaging … all that has an impact on the burden put on the construction lot and its surroundings, and problem-free construction. Our ability to supply modules even in extreme conditions is evidenced, for example, in the transport of modules by road, railroad, sea as well as by air to poorly accessible locations.

Quality logistics is also appreciated by our customers in the case of the delivery of so-called FlatPacks, i.e., modules supplied in unassembled form. Thanks to the well-planned logistics and construction solution, even large-scale buildings can be realized from FlatPacks, e.g., the administration building of Rotterdam’s Erasmus hospital in the Netherlands. The delivery of 82 flat-packed modules reduced the costs of and requirements for their transport, and the office building, with a floor area of 1,476 sq. meters, was assembled on site. Moreover, it took an unbelievable 12 weeks from the start of production to handover of the building!

Talking about innovations regarding the construction properties of KOMA modules, we must also mention the use of concrete floors, which gives

the modules greater stability and a sturdy character. Needless to say that as a result, the modules have better construction properties.

KOMA also produces its own facades for its modules and thus gives its modular buildings a different exterior look. In terms of interior design, worth mentioning are special installations such as acoustic ceilings, fire stations or various kinds of interior staircases. However, generally speaking, it can be said that KOMA directly focuses on an individual approach and tailor-made innovations.

After all, that is how we were able to produce, deliver and build the award-winning Czech pavilion at Expo 2015, which attracted attention not only because of its architecture (bronze medal), but mainly due to its extremely fast and environmental-ly-friendly construction. After the exhibition, KOMA was the first to return the rented site to its original state, transporting the pavilion back to the Czech Republic, where it will find subsequent use as an administrative building at the KOMA Company’s headquarters. In this building, KOMA will also create a new center of modular architecture.

Based on the above, it is obvious why KOMA supplies quality modular constructions around the world. We are also very happy to say that our achievements have also been noticed in the Czech Republic, where KOMA received the prestigious Company of the Year 2015 Award. An independent jury selected the winner from more than 3,000 competing companies.

KOMA Modular – unter-schiedliches Denken, un-terschiedliche Ziele, unter-schiedliche Bauten

KOMA Modular profiliert sich fast 25 Jahre als Firma, die auf dem Gebiet des Modul-Ausbaus eine einzigartige und authentische Einstellung hat. Am Anfang waren Vision und Berufung. Heute ist KOMA Leader im Modul-Ausbau und Architektur in der Tschechischen Republik, die Firma des Jahres 2015 in der Tschechischen Republik, der Realisator des Tschechischen Pavillons EXPO 2015 in Mailand, Innovator des Modul-Ausbaus, Lieferant von Modulbauten auf der ganzen Welt, Veranstalter von internationalen architektonischen Wettbewerben und vor allem eine Firma, die die Welt bereichern will.

Unterschiedliches Denken und unterschiedliche Ziele in Unternehmerabsichten des Inhabers von KOMA Stanislav Martinec sind der Grundbaustein für die Entwicklung der Gesellschaft, die es sich als Ziel

lichen Verantwortung von KOMA auch als Umfeld von Sportaktionen oder in Form von fahrbaren Installationen wie die ,,Closely watched breasts” - “Die stark verfolgten Brüste”. Dieses Projekt im öffentlichen Bereich macht auf die Problematik von Brustkrebs aufmerksam. KOMA verleiht ihre Modul als Sponsoren-Geschenk auch bei weiteren Gelegenheiten, dennoch ist die Spitze der CSR Aktivitäten von KOMA das Program KOMA for World.

KOMA for World ist ein humanitäres Programm, das die Schwesterngesellschaft KOMA Space leitet. Dieses Programm, das in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Diakonie der der evangelischen Kirche der Böhmischen Brüder entstand, ist primär auf die Unterstützung der Entwicklung von Kapazitäten der lokalen humanitären Organisationen aus durch Krieg oder durch andere Krisen betroffene Gebiete gerichtet. Das erste Pilot Projekt von KOMA for World war der Aufbau der Wohneinrichtung für die ukrainische Organisation Otchiy Dim (Vaters Haus). Die leistet Familien ohne Zuhause Hilfe, die aus durch Krieg betroffenen Gebieten im Osten der Ukraine flüchten. Das zweite Projekt ist die Lieferung eines modularen Objektes, das als Geschäft mit einem angeschlossenen temperierten Lager für die selbständige Bio-Farm in Moldavien dienen wird. Es handelt sich also um die Unterstützung der lokalen Landwirtschaft diesmal in einer anderen postsowie-tischen Republik.

Aus dem Kontext des höher Erwähnten ist klar, dass sich KOMA auch auf die erhaltbare ökologische Produktion konzentrieren wird. Die sog. Green Produktion gewährleistet die Minimalisierung der bei der Produktion und der Montage entstehenden Abfälle und deshalb ist es natürlich notwendig bei der Produktion die modernsten Technologien zu nutzen. Diese Weise ist nicht nur ökologisch, aber für

den Kunden auch ökonomisch vorteilhaft. Der Klient bezahlt nämlich nicht die hohen % an Abfällen. Die Kohlenstoffspur beim Produkt kann man aber nicht nur in der Herstellung beobachten.

Und das wir fähig sind Module auch in extreme Bedingungen zu liefern, beweist zum Beispiel der Transport der Module per Straße, Eisenbahn, Schiff, als auch per Luft in schwer erreichbare Lokalitäten.

Die qualitative Logistik nutzen unsere Kunden auch bei der Lieferung der sog. PlatPacks, also von Modulen die in gefaltetem Zustand geliefert werden. Dank der durchdachten Logistik und auch der Konstruktionslösung kann man aus PlatPacks auch Bauten von größerem Ausmaß realisieren, wie z.B. das Administrationsgebäude im Rotterdamer Krankenhaus Erasmus in den Niederlanden. 82 Module wurden auf die Art FlatPack geliefert, dadurch wurden die Kosten und die Anforderungen auf den Transport erheblich gesenkt und das Bürogebäude von einer Fläche von 1476 m2 wurde erst vor Ort zusammengebaut, wobei vom Beginn der Herstellung bis zur Übergabe des Baus nur unglaubliche 12 Wochen vergangen sind.

Und wenn wir bei den Innovationen auf dem Gebiet der bau-konstruktiven Eigenschaften der KOMA Module sind, müssen wir den Gebrauch der Beton-Böden erwähnen. Diese Böden verleihen den Modulen einen viel festeren Charakter und Stabilität. Natürlich haben sie auch qualitativere bau-konstruk-tive Eigenschaften.

KOMA stellt für ihre Module auch eigene Fassaden her und verleiht ihren Modular-Bauten somit ein unterschiedliches externes Aussehen. Wenn es um Interieure geht, sollte man die speziellen Installationen wie die akustischen Decken, Feuerstationen oder die verschiedenartigen Innentreppen erwähnen. Dennoch kann man im Allgemeinen sagen, dass sich KOMA direkt auf den individuellen Zugang und die Innovationen nach Maß konzentriert.

Letztendlich konnten wir auch deswegen den hochgeschätzten Tschechischen Pavillon der EXPO 2015 herstellen, der in Mailand nicht nur durch seine Architektur beeindruckte (er erhielt die Bronze Medaille), aber vor allem dadurch, dass sein Aufbau superschnell und noch dazu ökologisch war. Nach dem Ende der Ausstellung brachte KOMA als erste von allen das gemietete Grundstück in seine ursprüngliche Lage und transportierte den Pavillon in die Tschechische Republik, wo er einen sekundären Gebrauch in Form vom administrativen Gebäude des Sitzes der Gesellschaft KOMA erhält. In diesem Gebäude erbaut KOMA auch ein neues Zentrum für Modular-Architektur.

Aus dem oben Erwähnten ist klar, warum KOMA qualitative Bauten in die ganze Welt liefert. Und wir müssen sagen, dass wir sehr froh sind, dass man das auch in der Tschechischen Republik bemerkte, wo die Gesellschaft KOMA einen sehr prestigen Preis erhielt - Firma des Jahres 2015 der Tschechischen Republik. Eine unabhängige Jury suchte den Sieger aus mehr als 3.000 angemeldeten Firmen aus.
