Yarn: Bernat® Satin (120 g/4.2 oz; 230 m/251 yds) #00432 (Flamingo) 3 balls
Crochet Hook: Size 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 7 sps and 6 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in
pat.
Measurements: Approx 57 ins [144.5 cm]
wide x 31 ins [78.5 cm] deep.
Instructions:
Note: sp(s) = space(s). Pattern is calculated
in spaces throughout.
Ch 201.
1st row: (WS). 1 dc in 5th ch from hook
(counts as 1 dc and ch-1 sp). *Ch 1. Miss
next ch. 1 dc in next ch. Rep from * across.
99 sps. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 4. Miss first ch-1 sp. 1 dc in
next dc. (Ch 1. Miss next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in

MATERIALS
Bernat® Satin (100 g/3.5 oz; 149 m/163 yds) 2 balls each of: A: #04013 Mocha B: #04018 Buff C: #04521 Amber D: #04435 Cameo E: #04531 Rouge Crochet Hook: size 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9)
or size needed to obtain gauge.
MEASUREMENTS
Approx 24 x 70 ins [61 x 178 cm].
GAUGE
13 sc and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm]
Stripe Pat: Work 2 rows of each color in
following sequence: A, B, C, A, D, E. These
12 rows form Stripe Pat.
INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Shawl is worked widthwise.
With A, ch 227.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc
in each ch to end of ch. 226 sc. Turn.
2nd and alt rows: Ch 2 (does not count as
st). 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Join B.
Turn.

st into 3rd ch from hook, ch2, work 4dc bo
into next ch, ch2, dc4tog over next tr * rep
to corner (ch 2, 4dc bo, ch5, sl st into 3rd ch

corner st, continue along top edge ch 2,

Repeat corners and edges to complete round,

Options:
Bobbles: Make as many as are needed
around the border.
Attach yarn with a sl st to a picot along
border leaving a long enough tail to weave
through the chain sts and into the ball, ch12,
holding the chain sts in front of the hook sc
8x into 2nd ch from hook, sc 2x into 1st sc
made, sc 2x into next st 7x (16sts), continue
to work in spiral rounds and sc 30x, stuff
with thread. *sc2tog, sc into next st * rep
until ball is closed. Fasten off.
Jewels: glue at regular intervals around the
inner edge of the shawl’s border.

wear over a dress on a chilly summer night.
Try this free crochet pattern to make a pretty
shawl with fringe for all of those special
occasions.
Materials:
Crochet hook: US size K/10.5 (6.5mm); tapestry needle (tn)
Caron International’s Feathers (65% acrylic / 35% nylon; 1.75oz / 50g, 70yd / 64m): 8 skeins #0009 Sandpiper
Instructions:
GAUGE
In pattern st, 5 [dc, ch 1] and 5 rows = 4"/10
cm
Pattern stitch is very flexible; Gauge is not
crucial for this project.

Yarn: Caron International's Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein): 24 oz (4 skeins) Shown in: #9913 Lt. Country Blue
Hook: One size US H-8 (5mm), or size to obtain gauge
Yarn needle
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
approximately 76"/193cm across upper edge
x 38"/96.5cm long, excluding fringe
GAUGE: In Mesh st, 8 mesh sts (dc, ch)
and 8 rows = 4"/10cm. Gauge is not critical
for this project.
STITCHES USED
Chain (ch): Begin by making a slip knot on
your hook. * Wrap the yarn around the hook
(yarn over) and pull up a loop, [draw the
yarn through the loop on the hook to form
the first chain]. Repeat from * for number of
chains required. Note: The loop on the hook

Chain 4; join with a slip st to form ring.

4, slip st), * slip st in next ch-6 space, work

FINISHING
Block pieces lightly. Attach the Flowers to
Shawl in groups of 4, one group on each
corner area of shawl or as desired. Using
yarn needle, weave in ends.
