• Can slow down the nervous system causing sleepiness and forgetfulness

• Highly addictive as depressants are often ‘social’ drugs

• Cannabis is linked to symptoms of paranoia and can lead to complications in the brain.

and caffeine• Speed up the activity of the

nervous system.• Increase feelings of well-being,

and increase energy and alertness.
