FROM THE DESK OF FATHER MAC,FROM THE DESK OF FATHER MAC, We are now launching the TOGETHER IN MISSION Annual Ap-peal 2017 which supports the neediest schools and parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including our sister parish Saint Cecilia. The theme for this year’s appeal is “Be the Light of Christ.” Participating in TOGETHER IN MIS-SION is one way that every Catholic in the Archdiocese of L.A. becomes light for the world to see. How bright the light would be if everyone participated! Christ’s light calls us to educate others in the faith. Every year 80 schools, like St. Cecilia’s, receive funds from TO-GETHER IN MISSION. It is because of your support that these schools continue to remain active communities of learning. These funds make it possible for 12,000 students to receive a quality Catholic education. Christ’s light calls us to serve the poor and marginalized. Your support to TOGETHER IN MISSION helps to fund programs that directly benefit the most impoverished communities in our Archdiocese. Your gifts bring hope to those that have none. Christ’s light scatters the darkness. Every year, TOGETHER IN MISSION funds help to share Christ’s light with the sick and dying. Your support helps deacon and priest chaplains at the St. Camillus Center provide spiritual care for those in the midst of suffering at the end of life. For the past two years, Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Parish has exceeded its TOGETHER IN MISSION goal. I am deeply grateful for your past generosity and I hope I can count on your sup-port once again this year so that we can meet or exceed our goal. Our parish goal this year is $53,100. Please note: any funds are collected in excess of our goal come back to us in the form of a rebate, so our parish ben-efits too! You will soon receive a mailing from the parish containing a letter from me, a pledge card and a return envelope. Kindly fill out the enclosed pledge card with your information and the amount of your one-time gift or pledge and enclose with your check. You can mail your pledge the card in the enclosed envelope or bring it to church and drop it in the collection basket next Sunday. BETHLEHEM CHRISTIAN FAMILIES This week-end, Christian Families will be here to sell their hand carved religious images made of olive wood. The sale of these precious articles sup-ports their mission which is to maintain the roots and the existence of the Christian Fami-lies who are struggling to remain in Bethlehem. At least ninety percent of the funds raised through these sales go directly to Christians living in the Bethlehem area. The pro-ceeds will help them to survive and stay in the Holy Land since they have no other source of income. Thank you for your support and generosity.”

garding AB775. This law requires us to provide information to our clients how they may obtain a state-funded abortion. The Ninth Circuit is the most liberal and anti life circuit in the federal judiciary. However it also the most overturned. Please continue to pray that the Supreme Court of the United States will rule in our favor.
