My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
What a wonderful week we had this past week.
Monday’s special Mass brought about 300 people to the
parish from all over the diocese. It was a very beautiful
Mass in honor of our Blessed Lady. A special thank you
goes out to Abbé Weaver and for everyone who worked so
hard to make it possible.
Wednesday was the first day of Corpus Christi Academy.
It was a beautiful start of the school year. I was there to
greet the children getting off the busses. They looked
really sharp in their new uniforms and ready to begin the
new school year. Please keep all of the children from the
parish in your prayers as they begin the school year:
College, High School and Grade School.
Speaking of School, I want to give everyone a homework
assignment this week. I want you to be like Philip who
called Nathaniel to meet the Lord. Jesus said, “Come and
See.” Please invite a friend or family member who is not
Catholic to, “Come and See.” RCIA will begin very soon.
This is an opportunity for adults to prepare themselves to
join the Faith. Please call the office for more information.
Also, for those who have been away from the Faith for
some time, we have “Catholics returning Home.” Please
see the information contained elsewhere in the bulletin.
Next Saturday is First Saturday. I would like to invite you
to the 8 a.m. Mass, followed by devotions and a Spiritual
Conference given by Abbé Weaver. Also, please plan on
attending our special Labor Day Mass at 9:00 a.m., which
will be followed by donuts and coffee.
So many blessings coming to our parish….
May God’s Blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland
In observance of Labor Day, the
Parish Office will be closed on
Monday, September 5. We will
reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday
morning.
REMINDER: Several weeks ago we changed our hours to
9-5 (Monday thru Friday). Sunday remains 9-1. There are
no Saturday hours.
If you need a key to one of our buildings for an evening
event, please be sure to have someone from your group
pick up a key in the parish office BEFORE 5 p.m.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT.. .
A Ministry of Compassion
& Reconciliation
Catholics Returning Home is a
program coming to Sacred Heart
of Jesus on September 8th, that is designed to invite non-
practicing Catholics to return “home” to the Church and
resume active practice of their faith. Six (6) weekly
sessions provide up-dated information on the basics of
Catholicism in a non-threatening, support-group format.
Were you raised Catholic but don’t practice regularly?
Are you a Catholic who feels separated from the
Church?
Do you want to know more about today’s Catholic?
Do you want to feel “at home” in the Church again?
No matter how long you have been away and no matter the
reason, we invite you to renew your relationship with the
Catholic Church. Please join us for informal listening
sessions and an update of the Catholic faith. All sessions
are held at ...

PAGE 6 TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY T IME
Class is in session!
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of Corpus Christi Academy, I would like to thank the parishes of Saint Clare and
Sacred Heart of Jesus who made Catholic education at CCA a reality. Because of your support, we opened our doors on
Wednesday to 240 students in the day school and we will welcome over 30 preschool students in the coming weeks!
I would like to take a minute to thank a few people: First, the maintenance staff from both Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint
Clare who have worked at a record pace to bring the best resources to the academy as well as providing a safe and clean
environment. Second, I would like to thank the faculty and staff that put in overtime this summer to ensure the students
receive a rigorous and exciting education. Third, the parents; without your faith and commitment, CCA would not
exist. Lastly, the many committees that were formed last winter and have worked exhaustively over the past 8
months. These committees included the two pastors, parents, Diocesan members, and parishioners. Their collaborative
effort has given CCA a solid foundation to build upon and the committees modeled what it means when they said, and now
we say: To inspire, to excel and to serve.
