The Amarok can transport large quantities – and therefore takes

even the toughest challenges in stride. This is ensured by the

2.52 m² load area which can be protected by a robust special coat-

ing upon demand. The particularly low load platform height

and large tailboard make loading and unloading easier. And in

case you wish to explore difficult roads off the beaten track, you

can also equip your Amarok with a choice of either permanent

or selectable 4MOTION all-wheel drive.



No matter what you transport with your Amarok – bales of straw,

seed potatoes or silage – it can handle any load effortlessly thanks

to its high payload and enormous pulling power. To ensure that

everything stays in place, the load area has four lashing eyes

that can be used to secure your load with tie-down belts. And

should your journey take you over sticks and stones, this is not a

problem either. An underride guard is available as an option to

protect the engine, gearbox and tank from heavy blows.

Working materials, tools, manpower. With the Amarok, you’ll be

able to carry enough of everything you need and comfortably seat

up to five people. A Euro pallet can be loaded crosswise on the

load area – the broadest in its category. In combination with the

optional robust heavy duty leaf springs, a payload of up to 1,134 kg*

is possible. And in case of rain, you can safely store your power

drill or chainsaw in the double cab – because the cinema-style rear

seating can be divided 1⁄³ to ²⁄³ and folded in part or entirely.

Amarok Canyon.

“Canyon” lettering. There is black matt

decorative foil* with “Canyon” lettering

on both sides of the vehicle. In conjunc-

tion with Starlight Blue metallic, Reflex

Silver metallic and Deep Black pearl

effect, the decorative foil is Indium Grey.

The Amarok Canyon has a number of sporty, distinctive features. Black design elements,

many with a high-shine finish, and the exclusive Copper Orange metallic paint finish

as well as the individual design of the interior with “Vienna” partial leather seats further

underline this requirement. The special edition already comes with selectable or

permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive as well as four 8 J x 17 “Roca” alloy wheels with

245/70 R 17 all-terrain tyres as standard. Please note that the high-profile tyres may

lead to a change in the driving characteristics – such as driving comfort, braking dis-

tance, cornering ability and tyre rolling noise – as well as the fuel consumption of

the vehicle. In conjunction with the paint finishes Starlight Blue metallic, Reflex Silver

metallic and Deep Black pearl effect, the Amarok Canyon is delivered with Indium

Design elements. The Amarok Canyon convinces with a number of premium black design elements with a high-gloss finish. These

include the specially developed styling bar, as well as the robust side bars. A matt black roll cover is available as an option. It is

particularly easy to open and offers protection from dust and rain. The roll cover is also available as an option for the three equipment

lines of the Amarok.

Interior. The individual appearance of the vehicle is continued in its impressive interior

with “Vienna” partial leather seats in the colours Artgrey/Anthracite and the armrests

in Anthracite. Orange stitching on the seats, on the leather-covered steering wheel and

on the gear lever knob adds a sporty touch, as do the orange edges on the seat belts.

There are practical stowage pockets on the backrests of the front seats for the rear-seat

passengers.

Light bar. A light bar painted in the

colour of the vehicle with four round

headlamps is available upon request.

These take over the high beam function

of the front headlamps.

Tinted tail lights. They emphasize the

dynamic character of the Amarok

Canyon and create a distinctive look at

the rear.

Cockpit. The outer cover of the dash-

board has a premium finish. In case the

exterior paint finish is Copper Orange,

the decorative air vent surroundings are

also painted in this colour. With all

colour-keyed design underride guard

sets a further powerful accent at the

front of the vehicle. In conjunction

with Starlight Blue metallic, Reflex Silver

metallic and Deep Black pearl effect,

the underride guard is silver.

Amarok Ultimate.

The Amarok Ultimate is a Pickup of superlatives. Nothing stands in the way of making

a brilliant impression thanks to the various chrome applications: elegant chrome

double strips on the radiator grille, a solid styling bar and a rear bumper with a chrome

look – everything has been thought of here. Dimmed tail lights and the LED number

plate lighting at the rear perfectly round off the exclusive appearance of the vehicle.

In addition, the standard equipment includes electrically folding, adjustable and

heated door mirrors in silver as well as a silver design underride guard for the engine.

Privacy glass on the side and rear windows offer protection against sun rays,

while the “Ultimate” lettering on the front doors adds a further distinctive accent.

Interior. The ergonomically shaped seats are covered with premium “Alcantara” upholstery in Anthracite/Titanium Black while the

multifunction steering wheel has been enhanced with an elegant piano finish. The operating controls on the steering wheel

offer direct access to the “Plus” multifunction display, the mobile phone preparation and the radio system with integrated “RNS 315”

navigation function. A “Rear Assist” reversing camera provides additional assistance during reverse parking.

Front. The two elegant chrome double strips span the entire radiator grille. Further-

more, bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights ensure that you can see

and are seen more effectively – no matter whether it is day or night.

Load area. Thanks to a loading width of 1,222 mm between the wheelhouses, the Amarok can even transport Euro pallets cross-

wise – unthinkable for most pickups. The low loading sill height of 780 mm makes loading and unloading more comfortable while the

tailboard height of 508 mm allows the transportation of plenty of bulk cargo. All this ensures that the entire 2.52 m² load area is used in

an optimal manner. If needed, the sturdy tailboard with a load-bearing capacity of up to 200 kg can be used as a practical extension

of the load area. As the number plate is not visible in this case, an additional number plate holder is required for your journey. On models

without a rear bumper, the tailboard can even be folded down at a 180° angle to make loading and unloading as easy as possible.

The load can be secured on four lashing eyes using tie-down belts.

Load platform illumination. It lights up

the load platform so that you can even

load your vehicle in the dark. Addition-

ally, a third brake light is integrated in

the load platform illumination.

Load compartment protective coating.

The anthracite-coloured, UV-resistant

special coating protects the load com-

partment from mechanical and chemical

damage.

Aluminium load compartment lining.

The front wall, load area and the tailgate

are protected by perfectly fitted corru-

gated aluminium sheets while the side

walls are also protected with an opti-

mally fit plastic liner.

Hardtop. The hardtop has a tailgate with a large glass insert and gas pressure springs,

as well as sliding front and side windows which can be locked from the inside. Thanks

to the standard seal package, the interior is reliably protected from dust and rain. The

hardtop is painted in the colour of the vehicle and is equipped with interior trim as

well as rear window heating and green heat-insulating glazing.

Rail system. This set is available with

two rail profiles on the load platform or

with four; two on the load platform and

two on the side walls. Both systems can

be combined with the load compart-

ment protective coating.

Exterior and wheels.

The Amarok’s design is not only functional, but extremely impressive to look at, too.

You’ll recognise the typical Volkswagen “face” with its distinctive front headlights from

far away. In addition, the Amarok Highline is equipped with flared wheelhouses as

standard. Large rear lights and a wide, sturdy tailboard perfectly round off the vehicle’s

strong look on all models. The Amarok Trendline and Amarok Highline both have a

particularly easy-to-use tailgate handle with a rear lock as standard. To give your Amarok

a distinctive exterior, you also have a choice of a large range of alloy wheels in different

designs and sizes to suit your personal taste. Furthermore, every Amarok is delivered

with a spare wheel with a standard-sized tyre. In order to protect the wheel rims

from theft, locking wheel bolts are available upon request. These include an adapter

for the lug wrench.

Easy-to-use, lockable tailgate handle

(not illustrated). Thanks to a torsion

spring, the tailgate is particularly easy

to open and close. The lock is accord-

ingly positioned in the tailgate handle.


Tow bar. With a trailer load capacity

of up to 3,200 kg* at a 12% incline, it

is as robust as the Amarok itself.

Underride Guard I package (not illus-

trated). It protects the engine and gear-

box from stone-chip, amongst other

things, and is available for the Amarok

with rear-wheel drive or permanent as

well as selective all-wheel drive. For the

Amarok with heavy duty leaf springs,

there is an Underride Guard HD pack-

age, which contains a robust underride

guard for the tank in addition to the al-

ready mentioned features.

Plastic load compartment cover. Painted

in the colour of the vehicle, the lockable

cover reliably protects the load area from

dust and rain thanks to the standard

seal package. It can be combined with an

exterior package upon demand.

Aluminium load compartment cover.

This lockable cover made of checker

plate aluminium reliably protects the

load area against dust and rain thanks

to its standard seal package. It can easily

be removed if required.

Rear window protection grille. The ro-

bust black grille reliably prevents loose

cargo from chipping the rear window. It

is mounted on the loading sill.

Chrome I exterior package. The design underride guard covers the entire front area across the full vehicle width and additionally

underlines the off-road character of the Amarok. Two flat aluminium steps and a distinctive styling bar made of high-grade steel

with a chrome look round off the appearance. Instead of steps, the Chrome II exterior package offers two elegant side bars with a

chrome look (illustration on page 56) and the Chrome III exterior package offers two high-grade steel and chrome-plated side

bars with non-slip black surfaces (illustration on page 56) instead of steps. Each package is also available without the styling bar

upon request.

Rear bumper in black. The robust bum-

per with a step tread per fectly rounds

off the rear of the vehi cle. Upon request,

the distinctive bumper can be deselect-

ed on the basic version of the Amarok.

Chrome-plated rear bumper. The rear

bumper made of chrome-plated steel

gives the Amarok an even more distinc-

tive appearance. There is also an inte-

grated step tread to ensure that loading

and unloading is easier and more com-

fortable for you.

Exterior package in black. This package gives the Amarok an even more distinctive look. The steel styling bar has a pipe diameter

of 76 cm and is powder-coated black. Black side bars with step surfaces perfectly round off the appearance. This package is also

available without the styling bar upon request.

Off-road package I. A robust off-road package can be ordered as an option for the

Amarok to make it even more suitable for driving on open terrain. It includes an under-

ride guard for each the engine and gearbox as well as 245/70 A/T off-road tyres1) with

16 inch “Amazonit” alloy wheels. This package can be combined with all available drive

versions.

This package is only available for the

Amarok with heavy duty leaf springs. It

includes an underride guard each for

the engine, gearbox and fuel tank to of-

fer reliable protection from damage.

In addition, the 16 inch “Amazonit” alloy

wheels with 245/70 R 16 XL A/T tyres1)

offer the necessary grip when driving on

open terrain.

Solar protection film, black (not illus-

trated). Only 39% of solar radiation is

let into the interior by the black solar

protection film; 54% is absorbed and the

remaining 7% reflected. When combined

with privacy glazing, this results in

side and rear windows in the passenger

compartment that are virtually opaque

from the outside.


Electrically adjustable door mirrors.2) Electrically adjustable heated door mirrors with

an integrated antenna are available as an option for the Amarok and are already

included as standard for the Amarok Trendline and the Amarok Highline. The electrically

folding door mirrors offer even more comfort – with the help of a rotary switch, the

vehicle width can be reduced by approximately 17 cm.

Bi-xenon headlights. The bi-xenon

headlights generate both low and full

beam illumination in a single headlight.

This increases visibility and improves

safety. Elegant LED light bands are in-

stalled as daytime running lights.


Xenon design package. This consists of a chrome double strip on the radiator

grille, bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights as well as dimmed rear

lights and LED number plate lighting.

Privacy glass (not illustrated). Available

upon request, the dark-tinted side and

rear windows in the passenger compart-

ment offer a high degree of privacy while

No matter how tough a work assignment may be, nothing will shake you in the Amarok.

The comfortable interior has equipment that you would only expect to find in a

passenger vehicle. From the optional leather upholstery to the clearly laid out dash-

board, the passenger compartment has been designed to make you feel comfortable.

Particularly the generous amount of head and leg room provides you with plenty of

space for enjoyment.

Interior.

Cockpit. The premium look and feel of the materials and the ergonomic arrangement of the controls set a whole new standard

for pickups. Many stowage compartments – for example, on the doors and dashboard – as well as the lockable glove compartment

ensure that all your travel utensils are stored optimally. There is an additional stowage compartment in the centre console. On

the Amarok Trendline and Amarok Highline, it is additionally equipped with a lockable lid and can be used as an armrest. Also

extremely practical: the eyeball air vents allow a direct and precise regulation of airflow.

“Comfort & function” package. The

windows and heated electric door mir-

rors can be operated electronically at

the push of a button. This package also

includes central locking with radio

remote control.

Driver’s seat and front passenger seat. The two ergonomically shaped seats offer

individual height adjustment and can be heated on demand. Lumbar support is

available as an option. The centre console is equipped with two cupholders. There are

further practical stowage facilities underneath the seats in the Amarok Trendline and

the Amarok Highline. A driver and front passenger airbag as well as two head/thorax

airbags protect you in the unlikely event of an accident.



Stowage pockets in the doors. In the

driver’s and front passenger’s doors

are storage pockets that offer space for

a bottle up to 1.5 l in size. The storage

pockets in the rear doors can each ac-

commodate one 1 l bottle.

Height-adjustable seats. The driver

and front passenger seats can be adjust-

ed individually and ergonomically. This

way, you’ll arrive at your destination

feeling relaxed, even after a long journey.

Multi-use mounting points. The two multi-use mounting points are located below

the middle air vents on the dashboard and are easily accessible for both the driver

and the front passenger. A cupholder, a picture frame, a note clip and a magnetic

holder for metal objects are already included, and can be attached to the multi-use

mounting points quickly and easily.


12 V socket. Located on the dashboard,

it can be used, for example, to charge a

mobile navigation system.

Carpet floor covering. It is particularly

robust and creates a warm atmosphere

in the passenger compartment.

Robust f loor covering. A washable

surface makes it even easier to keep the

interior clean.

Digital tachograph (not illustrated). The

tachograph digitally records distance

and speed data for two drivers, and gives

an automatic warning before the

driver’s working hours are exceeded. The

data stored by the tachograph can be

printed by the integrated printer or

downloaded via the download interface.

In accordance with EU regulation 3820/

85, a tachograph is stipulated by law

for vehicles used commercially and that

have a gross train weight of 3.5 t upwards.

Rubber floor mats. These black, struc-

tured mats made of robust rubber

collect dirt and deflect moisture. They

are easy to remove and clean.

“Premium” textile mats. Designed

with an exact fit, these floor mats made

of hardwearing velour can be effort-

lessly fastened to the intended attach-

ment points. The front mats feature

the Amarok lettering.

Rear interior. In the Amarok, there is an impressive amount of head room and leg room

here, too. Furthermore, the Trendline and Highline equipment versions offer two

cupholders in the middle as well as grab handles attached to the B pillars. Three head

restraints, three 3-point retractable seat belts and two ISOFIX child’s seat mounting

points ensure increased safety at the rear of the vehicle. And should you require add-

itional stowage space, the cinema-style seats can be folded up quickly and easily.



Unlike any other vehicle in its class, the Amarok feels equally at home on and off the

road. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to ensure a high level of comfort,

cross-country mobility and traction. Amongst other things, you have a choice of three

different drive concepts, two types of spring elements and two smooth-running common

rail engines: an economical 2.0 l TDI engine with 103 kW as well as a powerful 2.0 l

BiTDI engine with 132 kW. The two exhaust turbochargers of the 132 kW engine provide

an impressive vehicle response at low revs and more powerful performance at high

revs as well as a torque output of up to 420 Nm. So no matter what you plan on using

it for, the Amarok can be optimally aligned to meet your requirements.

Engines, running gear and transmission. Engine dust kit (not illustrated). The

engine dust kit can prevent dust from

penetrating the engine compartment in

particularly dusty environments. This

provides the timing belt with added pro-

tection from premature wear and tear.

Standard leaf springs (not illustrated).

The standard leaf springs are the ideal

choice for those who require a payload

of up to 935 kg* but wish to have the

vehicle response of a passenger car.

These leaf springs significantly increase

driving comfort, especially at higher

speeds, and minimise the noise level at

the same time.

Heavy duty leaf springs (not illustrated).

They allow a payload of up to 1,134 kg*,

provide a high level of load safety and

are so robust that they can even cope

with extreme terrain effortlessly when

carrying a heavy load.

8-speed automatic gearbox. It is available for the 132 kW engine and can be com-

bined with permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive as well as rear-wheel drive. The first

gear is optimised for off-road use and pulling away when towing a trailer. This elim-

inates the need for additional gear reduction. The eighth gear, on the other hand, has

a longer gear ratio and is designed for fuel-efficient driving at lower revs.

Selectable 4MOTION1) all-wheel drive. Anyone who frequently travels through tough

terrain has a reliable partner with this 4x4 drive. A transfer case with electrically selectable

front-wheel drive allows you to engage the front wheels when needed, even whilst the

vehicle is in motion. An additional gear reduction setting can be activated to cope with

steep inclines. This ensures optimal traction at all times during off-road driving. On

paved roads, the vehicle runs in rear-wheel drive mode.

Permanent 4MOTION1) all-wheel drive. This permanent 4x4 drive with self-locking

centre differential is a speciality in the pickup segment and offers the ideal setting for

driving on as well as off the road with its power distribution of 60:40 (ratio between

the rear axle and front). This all-wheel drive really demonstrates its strengths on open

terrain: if one wheel starts to spin, the electronic differential lock is activated. It brakes

the wheel and transfers the entire power to the wheel with the best traction.

Rear-wheel drive. A cardan shaft trans-

mits the entire drive force to the rear

axle to allow comfortable handling. The

4x2 drive is intended for paved roads

and pathways.

Hill-climbing ability. The Amarok

can climb almost every mountain and

carry your load at the same time: a

trailer load of 3.2 t4) is not even a prob-

lem at 12% inc line. With a payload

of 1 t2), it can conquer hills with 100%

(45°) incline.

Ramp angle. The Amarok comfortably

takes you across sticks and stones. And

over significantly bigger things, too. With

a ramp angle of 23°2), even large obsta-

cles such as tree trunks and rocks are no

longer a problem.

Approach and departure angle and

wading depth. The Amarok can brave

steep hills as well as small water

crossings. It has an impressive approach

angle of 28°, a departure angle of 23.6°

(28° without rear bumper) and a wading

depth of up to 500 mm.

Side slope angle. The Amarok has an af-

finity for extremes and can even handle

roads with a lateral tilt of approximate ly

50°2), 3).

BlueMotion Technology badge. This badge shows that you drive a pickup with

extremely low fuel consumption and which is less harmful to our environment.

Low rolling resistant tyres (not illustrat-

ed). The Amarok with BlueMotion

Technology makes contact with the road

via tyres with optimised rolling resist-

ance. Thanks to the lower rolling resist-

ance, fuel consumption and therefore

CO2 emissions are reduced.

Regenerative braking (not illustrated).

Special energy management boosts the

alternator’s voltage during coasting

and braking. This recharges the vehicle’s

battery. When driving at a constant

speed, the voltage is reduced to lower

fuel consumption.

Amarok with BlueMotion Technology.

BlueMotion Technology makes a major contribution to the low consumption values

of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. For example, an Amarok with a 103 kW engine

and BlueMotion Technology package – consisting of a start/stop system, cruise control,

regenerative braking and roll resistance-optimised tyres plus a multifunction display –

consumes an average of between 6.8 and 7.3 litres of diesel per 100 km, which corres-

ponds to combined CO2 emissions of 179 g/km to 192 g/km. However, you can also

make your contribution by adopting a more environmentally-friendly driving style.

Incidentally, BlueMotion Technology measures are available for all equipment lines,

and with the 132 kW engine can even be combined with the 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Start/stop system. The start/stop system provides fuel-efficient and low-emission

driving. When you stop in traffic or at a red light, all you have to do is release the

clutch, put the gear in neutral and the engine automatically turns off. To continue

driving, simply press the clutch again. With the 8-speed automatic gearbox, leave

your foot on the brake when you come to a standstill and the engine will switch off.

When you release the brake, the engine automatically restarts.

Fog lights. These are integrated into

the bumper and provide optimal

visibility in adverse weather conditions.

Anti-theft warning system. In addition

to interior monitoring, this system com-

prises an electronic immobiliser, an

acoustic warning signal, deactivatable

Safelock as well as towing protection.

Safety and assistance systems.

The Amarok smoothly handles even the toughest terrain thanks to its numerous

safety and assistance systems. The elaborate technology package, consisting of off-

road ABS and the next generation Electronic Stabilisation Programme with Hill Start

and Hill Descent Assist, is unique in the pickup category. The special off-road ABS

improves extreme off-road driving by blocking the wheels in a controlled manner to

make small bits of material from the ground build and create brake wedges. This can

substantially reduce the stopping distance of the vehicle without having a negative

impact on its manoeuvrability. The Electronic Stabilisation Programme automatically

adjusts to the load conditions and helps prevent the vehicle from swerving. These

measures – combined with high stability thanks to the robust ladder frame – make the

Amarok an ideal partner for the intense rigours of day-to-day work.

Mechanical differential lock (not illus-

trated). When the rear differential lock

is activated, both wheels at the back of

the vehicle are powered with the same

amount of force and rotations. This of-

fers optimal traction, even on sandy

or slippery surfaces.

Airbags (not illustrated). Every Amarok is

equipped with up-to-date airbag tech-

nology. Just a few milliseconds after the

crash sensors register an impact, the

driver’s airbag and the front passenger

airbag are inflated with a gas mixture

to protect the head and upper body area

of the passengers. In addition, com-

bined head/thorax airbags are integrated

in the sides of the front seats. These are

im mediately activated following a

side collision.

Cornering lights. The inner fog light on

the bend illuminates the edge of the

road when you are turning off at a speed

of 40 km/h or less. Possible dangers

can therefore be recognised more quickly

for greater safety during the journey.

Light and Sight package (not illustrated).

The automatic driving light control with

a “coming home” and “leaving home”

function illuminates the area around

the vehicle for safety when getting in and

out. The rear view mirror dims auto-

matically when the lights of the vehicle

behind are too bright. In addition, a

rain sensor in the mirror registers even

light rainfall on the windscreen and

activates the windscreen wipers imme-

diately. The package also includes

dimmable instrument illumination.

Hill Start and Hill Descent Assist (not

illustrated). This allows a comfortable

handling of the vehicle when pulling

away uphill. Upon activation of the

off-road function, the assistant automat-

ically brakes the vehicle to allow an

optimal descent.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS). If a

wheel is in danger of locking, the system

immediately intervenes by reducing

the brake pressure in a controlled man-

ner. This helps to keep the Amarok fully

steerable when braking hard.

Traction Control System (ASR) (not illus-

trated). If one of the driven wheels has

an undesirably high rotation speed

(slip rate), the system activates a partial

braking procedure. The Traction Con-

trol System has been designed to pre-

vent wheelspin and facilitate smooth

acceleration.

Emergency stop signal (not illustrated).

In the event of an emergency stop at

50 km/h or above, the brake lights start

flashing. If the vehicle comes to a stand-

still, the hazard warning lights are ac-

tivated and will auto matically switch off

again as soon as you reach a speed of

10 km/h when you resume driving.

Electronic differential lock (EDL)

(not illustrated). If one wheel starts to

spin, it brakes the wheel and transfers

the entire power to the second rear

wheel on vehicles with rear-wheel drive

and to the other three wheels on vehi-

cles with 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The

electronic differential lock (EDL) can

also be combined with a mechanical

differential lock for the rear axle.

Electronic Stabilisation Programme.

The electronics help prevent the vehicle

from swerving. In order to respond to

critical driving conditions, the system

evaluates data provided by a network

of sensors. It can, for example, recognise

what direction the driver is steering in

and what direction the vehicle is moving

in – and it is also informed on the load

situation. Thus, it can build up brake

force to offer directional stability when

needed. At the same time, the Electronic

Stabilisation Programme is synchro-

nised with the ABS, MSR and ASR func-

tions and also remains activated with

selectable 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

The laws of physics cannot, however, be

overruled by the Electronic Stabilisa-

tion Programme.

Off-road ABS. In addition to the conventional anti-lock braking system, the Amarok

is also equipped with off-road ABS which has been specially developed for use off

the beaten track. As soon as this function has been activated – by pressing a button –

the braking interval is increased. The wheels lock up in a controlled manner so that

small wedges of material from the ground (such as gravel or sand) build up in front

of each wheel. This can substantially reduce the stopping distance of the vehicle.

Trailer stabilisation (not illustrated).

Specially configured for the Volkswagen

tow bar, the trailer stabilisation com-

plements the Electronic Stabilisation

Programme: should the trailer start to

fluctuate heavily, the system slows it

down by means of controlled braking

and reduced engine torque. This stead-

ies the trailer and increases driving

safety. The laws of physics cannot, how-

ever, be overruled by the trailer stabi-

lisation programme.

“Climatronic” air conditioning system. Its 2-zone temperature adjustment recognises

the intensity of the sun’s rays and the outside temperature and adds cool air accordingly.

The automatic air distribution mechanism and air quality sensors ensure a pleasant

climate.

“Climatic” air conditioning system. It has an interior sensor which continually reg-

ulates the climate inside the vehicle to meet the desired temperature setting. The

degree of temperature, air distribution and blower speed can be adjusted individually.

When your day-to-day work assignments are tough and demanding, your journey to

work should be as comfortable as possible. That’s why the Amarok offers you a variety

of comfortable equipment such as generous head room and leg room, optional leather

fittings for the Amarok Trendline and Amarok Highline as well as high-quality air

conditioning systems for a pleasant interior temperature. To offer you and your front

passenger a comfortable start to the day during the cold months of the year, the Winter

package includes heating for the front seats as well as heated windscreen washer jets.

Comfort.

Supplementary water heater. Upon

request, a supplementary water heater

is available for all Amarok models in

conjunction with the “Climatronic” air

conditioning system. It allows the

engine to be preheated and facilitates

rapid heating of the passenger com-

partment and/or ensures that it is also

preheated. The operating unit is inte-

grated in the overhead console and is

easy to reach. However, the supple-

mentary water heater can also be

switched on and regulated with the help

of the radio remote control.

“Cool & Sound” package (not illus-

trated). Ensure a pleasant journey: the

“Climatronic” air conditioning system

with 2-zone temperature adjustment

as well as the “RCD 310” radio system

with an MP3-compatible CD player

and six loudspeakers, a leather-covered

steering wheel, a leather-covered gear

knob and a leather-covered handbrake

lever.

Multifunction steering wheel. It has a piano finish and is covered in fine leather. It

offers many features to ensure greater driving comfort. For example, all available radio

systems, the radio/navigation system as well as the hands-free kit can be operated

on the left- or right-hand side via the controls integrated on both sides of the multi-

function steering wheel.

“Rear Assist” reversing camera. In conjunction with the “RNS 315“ or “RNS 510”, a

limited view of the area behind your vehicle as well as the anticipated path can be

displayed during reverse parking.

“Plus” multifunction display. This dis-

play provides you with up-to-date infor-

mation including the remaining range,

exterior temperature and average fuel

consumption. Amongst other features, it

also has a navigation function and an

open door sensor.

ParkPilot. Within the limits of the sys-

tem, warning tones indicate how far the

vehicle is from an obstacle when revers-

ing. In addition to the acoustic signal,

the display of the “RCD 310” radio sys-

tem or the “RNS 315” and the “RNS 510”

radio/navigation system gives a visual

indication of the distance behind the

vehicle. For the Amarok Trendline and

Snorkel.2) This is made of a choice of either polyethylene or lightweight carbon fibre and is attached to the Amarok along the A-pillar.

It protects the engine from dust and water ingress when driving off-road. The stipulated wading depth may not be exceeded. Due to

the elevated position of the combustion air intake of the snorkel, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles recommends its attachment if you

frequently travel on dusty roads.

“RNS 315” navigation function for the

“RCD 310” radio system. It offers a touch-

screen colour display, a Bluetooth com-

patible hands-free set for mobile phones,

4 GB flash memory, an SD card slot, six

loudspeakers and much more.

“RNS 510” radio/navigation system.

It has a 16 cm colour touch screen, a 30

GB hard disk, an SD card slot and an

MP3-compatible CD player. Voice recog-

nition is available in conjunction

with the leather-covered multifunction

steering wheel.

Hands-free kit. A mobile phone hands-

free kit with a Bluetooth function and

a microphone in the roof console is

available in conjunction with all radio

and radio/navigation systems.

In case the call of the wild isn’t enough for you, the Amarok offers a variety of attractive

sound experiences: the radio systems provide great entertainment for the entire inte-

rior with up to six loudspeakers. And thanks to the hands-free facility, you can even talk

Multimedia.

AUX-IN interface. External audio

sources such as an MP3 player can be

connected using the cinch socket and

operated via the attached device. The

AUX-IN interface is standard for the

“RNS 315” and “RNS 510”.

“RCD 210” radio system. This radio

has a RDS display, an MP3-compatible

CD player, an interface for a mobile

phone provision and two loudspeakers

with an output of 20 watts each.

“RCD 310” radio system. It has all the

functions of the “RCD 210” and addi-

tionally offers two more loudspeakers

in the rear compartment, as well as a

diversity aerial and a large display that

is compatible with ParkPilot.

Rail system. The set for the side panel and load platform comprises two rail profiles

and four belt fittings. Together with the optionally available lashing belt, square bracket,

load compartment net bag and the basic carrier, it can master any transport task.

The basic carrier is mounted on the Amarok's rail system and provides an additional

transport option on the load platform. It can be used with a wide range of transport

solutions.

230 V alternator.1) It converts the direct

current generated by the vehicle into

230 V alternating current (max. 150 W).

This allows you to, for example, operate

notebooks or charge the battery of

your mobile phone via the standard

European socket.

Rope winch.1) It can either be attached

to the vehicle front or in the load area.

The robust rope winch is equipped with

a 30 metre plastic rope and has a max-

imum towing capacity of 3.6 t when at-

tached to the vehicle front.

Wireless Internet access.1) For those who frequently travel with a notebook or tablet.

The set consists of a roof aerial and a wireless router; it provides fast, comfortable

Internet access including GPS tracking system.

Tarpaulin and frame fixture.1) The gal-

vanised square steel pipes are firmly

connected to the side walls and to the

rear wall of the cab. A high-quality

tarpaulin is stretched over the frame

and can be opened on three sides.

“Field & Forest” engine underride guard.1) This closed underride guard made of 5

mm aluminium is designed as a slide and is additionally equipped with reinforcement

ribs. It protects the engine, the front axle differential housing and the pivot points

of the lower wishbones. Its construction design is specifically geared towards the re-

quirements of the forestry and agriculture businesses.

Special signalling system.1) The blue light bar made of robust polycarbonate is equipped

with a high-performance LED (RTK 7). The system also has an eAZD control unit,

a microphone for outside announcements and an integrated sound sequence system.

To ensure that your Volkswagen is protected from mechanical and chemical effects

as well as corrosion, we apply the paint in several coats so that you always make a

brilliant impression.

Side bars with tread plates. These side

bars, made with highly polished stainless

steel, give the vehicle a dynamic and

sporty feel. They feature robust black

tread plates and can bear a weight of

up to 200 kg. Upon request, they are also

available in black.

Side bars. The polished stainless steel

creates an athletic, sleek look. With a di-

ameter of 76 mm, the bars can be safely

attached to the standard securing points

without the need for additional drilling

by using three fastening clamps each.

6½ J x 16 “Aspen” alloy wheels. With

245/70 R 16 winter tyres. The alloy

wheels are compatible with snow chains.

8 J x 19 “Aragonit Black Edition” alloy

wheels in black. With 255/55 R 19 tyres.

The wheel is also available individu-

ally or in Brilliant Silver.

Designer underride guard. It emphasises the front of the Amarok, while the structured

look adds a typical offroad presence. The two-coloured front panel stretches across the

entire width of the vehicle.

Steel underride guard. Available for the

gearbox and the tank, it provides

protection against stone-chipping and

braches lying on the ground on offroad

terrain. The tank underride ground

cannot be combined with the petrol

engine.
