Access to television grew from 20% of the urban population (1991) to 90% of the urban population (2011). Even in the rural areas satellite television has a grown up market.

In the cities Internet facility is everywhere. Extension of Internet facilities even to the rural areas.

Global food chain /restaurants has already found a huge market in the urban areas of India

Lavish Multiplex movie halls, big shopping malls and high rise residentials are seen in every cities.

Telecommunication and Software industries are booming in India.

Entertainment sector in India has a worldwide market. Bollywood movies are accepted and distributed everywhere.

Agriculture acquired 13.7 % of India’s GDP in 2012-13.

60% of population still depends on agriculture for their livelihood.

Occupied 43% of India’s geographical areas.

Different state governments of India are taking initiative to literate thefarmers.

• GDP grew over 6.95% during 1992-93 compared to 5.5 % in 1980s

• Indian Rupee was valued 8.3 per $ in 1985,while in 1993 it valued 31.37 per $

• In 1950s 50% of GDP came from agricultural sector which declined to 28% in 1991 and to around 13% now.

• Fiscal Deficit was 11% of GDP in 1989 which reduced to 7.2% in 1992

• Poverty was declined by 8.9% during 1983-94 while in post reform period rate was 7.9%

• Employment growth in rural areas was lower in 1993-04 in compared to 1983-93
