The Brief - to create a place that;

•Exudes generosity, colour, fun and an ‘other worldliness

•Respects and enhances the sense of place

•Connects with the local community and optimises the use made of the beach

•Celebrates time, place and nature, exploits changing weather and the seasons


The Brief - to create a place that;

•Creates a magical playground for all ages that has universal appeal

•Rethinks and re-presents illumination

•Maximises commercial development and income opportunities

•Commits only to solutions with sustainable maintenance costs


An ‘All Ages’ Playground, that is surreal and slightly mad

but makes sense and could only do so in Blackpool.
