SDC application - commissioning

This manual serves as a guide for uploading SDC applications to your phone, tablet or computer.

These instructions will lead you with commissioning of SDC application that will control RTS receivers via RS485 RTS transmitter. This system allows you to control RTS motors over the Internet.

SDC application - installation

For controlling RTS receivers over the Internet you need:� RS485 RTS transmitter� LAN (WiFi) / RS485 interface� iRidium mobile licence

You can receive demo licences from iRidium mobile for free.

Connect RS485 RTS transmitter and LAN / RS485 interface with 2(3) wire cable - this will be RS485 bus.


These 2 connected devices can be displayed in this scheme:

In case of WiFi / RS485 interface then no cable is needed between the interface and the router.

This scheme allows to control the installation in one moment only from one smart device.


In case of need more then 16 channels, you can increase the installation.

In case you need to control the installation from more smart devices concurrently then you have to equip the installation with iRidium Gate software running permanently on a PC.

Following instruction describes how to install SDC application into your smart device. Somfy SDC application is used for control:

� RTS motors or motors with RTS receivers� Sonnese RS485 motors� ILT2 motors connected to RS485 4ILT interface� RS485 motor controllers� IB+ motor controllers

Somfy SDC application was developed on iRidium Mobile console. Therefore, first you have to install iRidium client application into your device. Then you can upload SDC applications into iRidium client using iRidiumTransfer SW.


The installation will be divided into the following steps:1. upload iRidium client application to your device2. iRidium transfer installation (or the whole package) to your PC 3. find your device in iRidium transfer 4. insert SDC file into iRidium transfer applications5. inserting the license file into iRidium transfer6. transfer data to your device 6. transfer data to your device 7. setting IP addresses of WiFi (LAN) / RS485 converter

Step 2 - 6 can be done remotly from an office. Then customer´s smart device connects with a remote PC with iRidium transfer software. In case of need you can contact Somfy.

Selecting iRidium client application depends on the type of used smart devices:

In case that your smart Android device didn´t find i2 control on Google play, then you should download *.apk file from www.iridiummobile.net.

Insert SDC application into iRidium transfer. The most recent version of SDC application you can download from www.somfyarchitecture.cz. You have to unzip the file first.

Next you should search your smart device in iRidium transfer. To do this your smart device has to be on the same network like your PC with iRidium transfer, ie. PC 192.168.1.60 and your smart device 192.168.1.65.

SDC application - licence

Insert iRidium license file into iRidium transfer. The license file can be purchased directly from Iridium Mobile web page or get it from your supplier. You will need a serial number of your device (HWID). This HWID is displayed in iRidium Transfer.

SDC application - HWID

Also you can get serial number of your smart device when you hold your finger for 10 s on the displey of the smart device or in case of Windows press F8. Then password request appears. Insert 2007.

When you input the password 2007 then you enter into a setting menu. Here you can read the unique number of your device - HWID.

Follow these steps to get 2 free licences:1) Visit http://www.iridiummobile.net/ and register yourself. Then go to My

account section.2) In trial section ask for 2 demo licences valid 1 month.3) Insert HWID of your device to the form under My licences section. You can

find this HWID in iRidium transfer.

How to purchase a full iRidium licence:1) Visit http://www.iridiummobile.net/ and register yourself. Then go to My

account.2) In Buy section select iRidium for AV & Custom Systems licence and

choose Nr. of licences and then press Buy button.

SDC application - iRidium transfer

Pair the licence and SDC app together. You can upload SDC app into your smart device also without a licence but then there will be no communication between your device and WiFi (LAN) / RS485 router and then also no posibility to control end products.

Load SDC project and the licence into your smart device by pressing reload button. You can do it only if the button „On“ is green.

In case HTC phone you don´t have green on and you should do it in a different way. Just search for an advice on iRidium web, Somfy Youtube channel or on www.somfyarchitecture.cz.

SDC application - IP addresses

Set IP address of your LAN(WiFi)/RS485 interface in SDC app. Probably you have the interface set to receive IP address from the router that is connected to. In this case you can use free software Advance IP scanner (http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/), that can find the interface´s IP address.

As the 2nd IP address set your public IP address. In case you don´t have a permanent IP address from your Internet provider then it can happen that this IP address will be changed in the future.

SDC application - Somfy demo board

You can try SDC application on Somfy demo board via the Internet. Just enter IP address of our public Internet connection 46.13.164.254 (in case of a problem with the connection, contact Somfy by email [email protected] or phone +420267910007 to check this IP address).

If you download SDC app from web site www.somfyarchitecture.cz, then the correct IP address is set within SDC app.

You can watch a reaction on your orders. Just type the following address into an internet browser: http://sdcapplication.click2stream.com/

Then you can watch a reaction on your orders sent from your device thanks to the installed IP camera. Count with 3 sec delay. Be patient because this page is very slow.

SDC application - more smart devices together

Running software iRidium Gate allows access more smart devices simultaneously to the installation. You can follow these pictures. Only enter your host IP address of the LAN/RS485 interface. Then instead IP address of the interface enter IP address of the PC where iRidium Gate is launched.

SDC application - router setting

To have access from the Internet, the router must be set to forward port 4999 to the IP address of LAN (WiFi) / RS485 interface or IP address of PC with running iRidium Gate. Next you have to forward port 4998 to the IP address of LAN (WiFi) / RS485 interface.

Then you enter public IP address to your smart device. It is adviced to set permanent IP addresses for used devices.

pozn.: in case of only short bus wiring, you don´t need to use resistors at the ends

In case you purchase an interface from Somfy, it is set for usage with Somfy RS485 products. If you want to use IB+ motor controllers, you need to change these settings.

SDC application - iRidium client menu

When you finished the installation, hold your finger on the display of your smart device for 10 s until a box with request for a password appears. Then enter the password 2007 and you will enter the client setting.

For fast launching turn off Update option and press Apply.
