Your generosity has helped many
people! During the week of
April 30th, 27 bags of food were
distributed.
Our weekly contributions have been very stable and consistent throughout this year. I want to take this moment to thank all of you who have been so generous
with your financial support of the parish. As a result of your increased giving this year, our budget is in very good shape. We have managed our finances well and are operating in the black, thanks to all of you. Many thanks to Wendy Chartrand and the Parish Finance Committee for all their hard work in preparing our budget and monitoring it through the year. Our fiscal year ends August 31st. As the
summer months approach and we enter the
final quarter, I encourage you to please
continue to support our endeavors with your
time, talent and treasure. All three, help us to
do so much to build the Kingdom of God
together in this great parish. Our weekly tithing
continues to help others and remains an
important part of our commitment to be a
stewardship parish.
Our Lady of the Lake is a Stewardship Parish
This means that as a parish community we are
striving to embrace stewardship as a way of life.
Stewardship is the recognition that all we are and
possess are gifts from God. It reminds us to keep
God first in all aspects of our lives.
A stewardship parish is simply a parish made up of
believers who recognize that they own nothing,
that they are simply caretakers, stewards of all God
has entrusted to them.
A steward parish:
• Shares the gifts given to it with others in
love and justice.
• Invites, develops and fosters the talents and
skills of its parishioners.
• Provides varied opportunities for
parishioners to deepen their relationship
with God through prayer, Scripture, vibrant
liturgies and ongoing education for
members of all ages on the Catholic faith.
• Is open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance for its
ministries, leaders and mission.
FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Many thanks to all of you who have contributed to the Annual Partners in Charity Appeal. As of May1st, 160 people have contributed
$44,942. toward our $65,000 goal! THANK YOU! Please consider making a contribution to the Appeal today. Envelopes are at the end of each pew. Remember, every gift is important and greatly appreciated.
TEACHER APPRECIATION PARTY! You will not want to miss out on
this year’s amazing event on
Monday, May 22nd at 5:30 PM!
All catechists, aides, and general
helpers who have assisted in our
program are invited to attend.
Please mark your calendar and
RSVP to the Religious Ed Office
so we can plan for you!
REGISTRATION! In the quest to complete our
registration process for the 2017-2018 school year
before the summer break, we are asking parents to
register your children as soon as possible.
Registration forms may be picked up, completed and
left for us on the table outside the Religious Ed.
Office in the Parish Family Center. Each form is
numbered as it comes in. Although we try to honor
your choice, we can only guarantee your choice of
day for the first 100 families. Early registration is to
your advantage as parents retain the ability to make
changes to your choice of day up until mid August,
should your schedule change later on in the spring.
Questions? Please call the Religious Ed Office.
Many people came to the meeting about the 2018 Holy Land Pilgrimage. It promises to be a wonderful pilgrimage. If you are interested in joining us, please call
the office soon. Written information about the trip is available at the parish office and online for you to read more about this exciting opportunity. Come join us April 9th-19th, 2018!
As the Religious Ed. year closes,
there is still an exciting opportunity
for our high school kids to gather as
a community: Summer Co-ed
Volleyball League. Matches are
on six consecutive Tuesday nights starting in July.
Our Lady of the Lake’s team will begin practice
soon! Kids come with a wide range of experience
and skill! The team is open to kids graduating from
8th grade this spring through high school graduates.
Call the Religious Ed. Office for more info or to
sign up.
ALL ARE WELCOME! No matter what your present status
in the Catholic Church,
no matter what your current family or marital
situation,
no matter what your personal history,
age, background, race,
no matter what your own self-image:
You are invited, welcomed, accepted, loved,
and respected here at Our Lady of the Lake.
If you are new to our parish,
please contact the Parish Office to register
as a new member of our parish family.
Save the date…. Javier will be ordained a Deacon on
June 3rd, 2017, at 10:30AM at St.
Paul’s Cathedral. All are welcome to
attend.
We welcome forty-two of our
young children as they gather
around our family table to share in
their First Eucharist this weekend!
As we celebrate the blessing that
these children and their families
are for our parish, please continue to pray for them,
that nourished by Christ’s own Body and Blood,
they will become His Body and Blood for one
another and our world.
MAY CROWNING - All of our children
are invited to take part in the crowning of
Mary at our parish Grotto after the 9:45 AM
Liturgy next Sunday, May 14th. Children
who would like to take part in honoring
Mary should meet at the main door of the
church at the end of Mass.

CO-SPONSORED BY
OUR LADY OF THE LAKE PARISH
AND
ST. BERNARD’S ELEMENTARY
PARISH
July 31st to August 4th, 2017, 9:30AM to 12:30PM
We need lots of help to make this happen. If you are interested, please call Father Dennis as soon as possible. Joyce Leite from St. Bernard’s would like someone from our parish to co-chair the event with her. We also need at least ten other adults and ten young adults who would be willing to work at the bible school. More than this would be great! Everyone is welcome to join in making this a fun-filled event for our children. We need storytellers, teachers, teacher aides, and of course snack helpers! It was great fun last year. Let’s keep this tradition going. Call today if you can help. Also, please return registration forms as soon as possible.
ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Coffee Shop Help Needed! Starting in September (after the bazaar) we will be in need of a person or persons
who would be willing to set up the schedule and coordinate the volunteers, gained through the Rel. Ed Program, and another person to pick up the donuts at the Leominster Dunkin Donuts and deliver them by 8-8:15AM each Sunday from mid-September to the end of May. Please call Lisa at 342-2978, x109 if you can help.
Thank you for your Parish Support!

vibrant or vulnerable, competent or in need of special care,
born or unborn. Show your love of life by supporting the
Rose for Life Drive!
If you would like to help with this event, contact Kathy
Thibert at 978-466-1894.
Gardening Ministry It’s that time of year again!
Once again, we would like to use the raised gardens at the rectory to
grow vegetables for the people who come to our Parish Food Pantry. If anyone is interested in resuming this ministry, please call the parish office and let us know. Perhaps one family could adopt one of the beds and raise tomatoes, another lettuce, a third carrots or melons. A little cultivating, some weeding, and before we know it, fresh produce for our friends who come to us in their need. Let us know today if you are interested so we can make this happen! Father Carlos has volunteered to convince the new pastor to do the watering!
Please keep the following individuals in your prayers

Father Carlos’ Pills of Faith Fourth Sunday of Easter
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads
me; he refreshes my soul.” We sing Psalm 23 that Jesus is our good shepherd who takes care of us, who gives us love and comforts our souls. This is what Pope Francis calls “revolution of tenderness” like Jesus we are called to be shepherds to one another, we are invited to be tender and care for all our brothers and sisters, especially those in need, those who seem worthless to our society. A good shepherd gives his life for his sheep! Pope Francis says, “Tenderness is love that comes close and becomes real. “Tenderness means to use our eyes to see the other, our ears to hear the other. It means to use our hands and our heart to comfort the other, to take care of those in need.” Then, let us enjoy the tenderness of Jesus, our good shepherd, who hears our prayers, who is present and real to console us, to help us in moments of distress and refresh our souls. But also, let us be tender with one another giving our loving and humble hearts to our neighbor. Let us be revolutionaries of tenderness! The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
Donations are always welcome to
replenish our food pantry and may be
left in the totes at the entrances to the
church.
