ST RICHARD’S HOSPICE – CARING FOR LIFE

Based in Worcester, St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. The hospice team also supports a patient’s loved ones.

“YOU ARE ALL AMAZING AND HAVE CREATED

LIFELONG GRATITUDE IN THE FAMILIES LIKE OURS

WHO CAME TO KNOW, LOVE AND NEED YOU. THANK YOU

DOESN’T COME CLOSE.”

Every day, the hospice team has more than 1,200 people under its care – at the hospice, in people’s own homes or in the community. As an independent charity – with just 20% of its income funded by the NHS – St Richard’s is grateful for the support of, and donations from, the community to enable it to continue its services. Our majestic elephants have paraded through the city for 8-weeks, bringing smiles to the faces of all who saw them.

Now, you have the chance to offer one (or the whole herd!) of our elephants a forever home, as a lasting memory of this summer’s wonderful trail.Join us for a night to remember at our Live

Auction, hosted by Rich ‘Hursty’ Hurst and featuring Bargain Hunt and Flog It! Auctioneer Philip Serrell.

All 30 Giant Elephants and one Elephant Calf; the wonderful ‘Spark-Ele’, will go under the hammer. The reserve for each elephant sculpture is expected to start from £3,000, so be prepared

for some competitive bidding! Previously the giraffe sculptures sold for between £4,000 and £15,000 each.

If you are interested in bidding for a sculpture and wish to attend the auction, tickets cost £15. If you areunable to make the live auction; online, telephone and commission bids also available. Please register for all auction options at worcestersbigparade.co.uk/auction

You are encouraged to inspect the sculptures before the auction, during the Farewell Event. They are ‘sold as seen’ and their condition can not be guaranteed.

These elephants have been on a public trail for 8 weeks and although they have been retouched by artists, they do show character.

The auction will raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice and the care we provide for patients with serious progressive illnesses and their loved ones too.

Philip is renowned for his humour and his giant personality. His twitter account describes him as ‘an antique in his own right’ and provides amusing insights into his antics in the BBC antiques world.

Philip is a patron and great friend of St Richard’s and often gives his services free of charge.

Philip has raised funds for the hospice in a variety of ways; he has previously

completed the Worcester Half Marathon raising over £10,000, donated his fees when he won Celebrity Mastermind (never judge a book by its cover eh?) and he also appeared naked in a St Richard’s fundraising calendar, which sold surprisingly well!

We are delighted to have Philip auction the Worcester Big Parade elephants and grateful to him and his team for their support and expertise.

MEET OUR AUCTIONEER

Each elephant has a Lot number shown next to each photo. The auction will run in Lot order and will stop for a 20 minute break after Lot 20.
