Principals Report

Work around the school - As we continue with improvements around the school, we begin another exciting project. We are working at making improvements to learning spaces around the school that will provide greater flexibility and modernise the learning environments of classrooms. Our next round of work will take place in 1/2C and 2B classrooms, requiring both classes to temporarily relocate to new spaces. 1/2C will be relocating to the Library and 2B will be relocating to Room 7 (next to 2/3W). We appreciate your understanding during this time. 2020 Enrolments - We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten for 2020. If you have a child who is turning 5 years of age on or before July 31st 2020, they can start next year. We will be holding an Information Session

for 2020 Kindergarten parents on Wednesday 11th September at 6pm.

Please come and see one of our office staff for an enrolment package. Little Kindy will

commence in Term 4. If you know of any new families in the area or families that have school aged children starting Kindergarten next year please let them know they can come and enrol. Education Week - Thank you to all of the parents, carers, grandparents, family members and wider school community that came along to our Education Week Open Day and Art Show. It was great to see so many participants in our school walk, looking at some of the new things we have added to our school grounds. The Art Show was a big success with students excitedly showing their artwork to family and friends. We truly appreciate the support that you give to us all at Campbelltown East PS and the encouragement you provide to your children to engage in learning. A big thank you to Mrs Murphy and all of the teachers for the organisation that went in to making the day a success.

Science Fair-

This week we celebrated National Science Week with our Annual Science Fair. It was fantastic to see so many students, family and friends come along and get their hands dirty as they participated in a wide range of science experiments and activities. Thank you to Mrs Murphy and all of the CEPS staff who worked hard to create experiments and make the night a success.

Book Parade - Next week, we celebrate Book Week. The theme for this years book week is Reading is my Super Power.

Athletics Carnival - Next week is our K-6 Athletics Carnival at Campbelltown Athletics Stadium. The carnival is a fantastic day with amazing events scheduled across the day for all students with prizes offered for encouragement, achievements and positive attitudes. Last year we were fortunate to have the support of the P&C to fund the transportation and entry for all students to this fantastic venue with a fantastic day being had by all. This year, the P&C have again funded transportation and entry for all children. We thank the P&C for this outstanding contribution and look forward to another fantastic day.

Thank you to the Wonderful P&C.

Communication with school - If at any time you have any queries or concerns I encourage you to communicate these with the school. It is always better to discuss concerns before they become a problem. Mrs Janene Cook Principal

Attendance at school

LATENESS TO SCHOOL Important Reminder: Many students are arriving to school late in the morning. It’s getting colder and we understand that it is tempting to stay in bed for a little longer. However, the bell that signals the start of the school day rings at 8.55am. It is a legal requirement for students to be at school and it is important for them to hear the morning messages and routines for the day. As teacher rolls are legal documents, it is vital that they are accurate so it is necessary for all students who are not in lines, therefore late, to go to the office for a late note. Our roles are regularly monitored by the School Home Liaison Officer and regular patterns of lateness to school are monitored. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but these protocols ensure the safety of all students. Galactic Gus says,

‘Make it your goal to be at school every day and in line every time!’
