Field wiring for hazardous areas

Weidmüller offers high-quality stainless steel enclosures – assembled and certified according to customers require-ments – for the use in hazardous areas. Fields of application are distribution enclosures for intrinsically safe signal circuits, distribution enclosures for power transmission and distribution in Ex-zones, as well as fieldbus distributors.

Intrinsic-safe signal conditioners

The ACT20X products comply with the strict standards of the process industry. They prepare and galvanically isolate signals from various Ex zones (zones 0, 1, 2) for the PLC system. ACT20X are can be universally used. High insulation strength, accuracy and temperature stability make the ACT20X products stand out.

Surge protection

VARTIECTOR SPC pluggable surge protection is remarkable for its combination of extremely high protective functionality and its compact dimen-sions. The protective element of the modules can be pulled off, measured or exchanged while operating impedance-neutral – without inter-rupting the measuring circuit. In addition to surge protection, VARTIECTOR SSC includes solutions for direct contact to PE, separation of signal paths and visualizing operating status for applications in control and instrumentation technology.

Power supplies

The high-performance PRO-H power supply range (Power Reliable Optimised) with ATEX and Class I Div. 2 approvals were designed for use in Ex- and high-performance areas. The power supply units – with their high power reserves, wide temperature range from –25 °C to +70 °C, and high MTBF (mean time between failures) of more than 1.8 million hours – are perfect for all applications in the process sector, where reliability is of the upmost importance. A two-channel set-up with 100 % load sharing can also be implemented with an optional redundancy module. This serves to increase your operational reliability.

Marshalling and power distribution terminal blocks

Weidmüller’s Marshalling and power distribution terminal blocks (PRV) offer numerous connection possibilities for signal cables in the smallest space; this helps you to avoid the high costs of additional space requirements. The PRV is currently the most compact marshalling terminal block with PUSH IN wire connection in the world.

Weidmüller’s WMF (Weidmüller Multi-Functional) line of terminals provide a multi-functional solution for marshalling and distribution of signals. This space-saving terminal combines all the necessary functionality into one single solution: It features an integrated shield connection and can be used with feed-through, fuse and disconnect functionality. Additional flexibility if offered by three cross- connection channels, a variety of marking options and pluggable connections for pre-assembled system cables.

Safety relays

Weidmüller’s SAFESERIES SIL relays, certified by the TÜV for SIL 3, are perfectly suited for safety-related signal circuits in SIS and ESD systems for the oil and gas industry. The high quality of the safety relay ensures that, where used in safety-relevant applications, the emergency shutdown is always reliably performed. Additional flexibility is offered by a ”G3“ coating for use in aggressive environments or a wide-range voltage input combined with back-up systems.
