- 1. New Testament Vistas
2. Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.1. PEACE WITH GOD 3. Romans 5:2 we rejoice in the hope of theglory of God.Romans 8:30 those he called, he alsojustified; those he justified, he also glorified.1 Corinthians 13:12 Now we see but a poorreflection as in a mirror; then we shall seeface to face. 2. REJOICE IN HOPE 4. Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also rejoicein our sufferings, because we know thatsuffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, becauseGod has poured out his love into our heartsby the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.2. REJOICE IN HOPE 5. Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin enteredthe world through one man, and deaththrough sin, and in this way death came to allmen, because all sinnedRomans 5:18 Consequently, just as the resultof one trespass was condemnation for allmen, so also the result of one act ofrighteousness was justification that brings lifefor all men.3. CHRIST COVERS OUR SIN 6. Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shallwe go on sinning so that grace may increase?Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sinbecause we are not under law but undergrace?Romans 6:2, 15 By no means!4. SET FREE FROM SIN 7. Romans 6:3-4 Or dont you know that all of uswho were baptized into Christ Jesus werebaptized into his death? We were thereforeburied with him through baptism into deathin order that, just as Christ was raised fromthe dead through the glory of the Father, wetoo may live a new life.Romans 6:7 because anyone who has diedhas been freed from sin.4. SET FREE FROM SIN 8. Romans 6:11-12 In the same way, countyourselves dead to sin but alive to God inChrist Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign inyour mortal body so that you obey its evildesires.4. SET FREE FROM SIN 9. Romans 6:22 But now that you have been setfree from sin and have become slaves to God,the benefit you reap leads to holiness, andthe result is eternal life.5. SLAVES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 10. Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.6. FREE FROM THE LAW 11. Romans 7:4 So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. Romans 7:6 by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.6. FREE FROM THE LAW 12. Romans 7:19 For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do this I keep on doing. Romans 7:24-25 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to Godthrough Jesus Christ our Lord!6. FREE FROM THE LAW 13. Romans 8:6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is lifeand peace;Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helpsus in our weakness. We do not know what weought to pray for, but the Spirit himselfintercedes for us with groans that wordscannot express.7. ADOPTED INTO GODS FAMILY 14. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all thingsGod works for the good of those who lovehim, who have been called according to hispurpose.Romans 8:23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groaninwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoptionas sons, the redemption of our bodies.7. ADOPTED INTO GODS FAMILY 15. Romans 8:14-17 those who are led by theSpirit of God are sons of God. For you did notreceive a spirit that makes you a slave againto fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirithimself testifies with our spirit that we areGods children. Now if we are children, thenwe are heirsheirs of God and co-heirs withChrist, if indeed we share in his sufferings inorder that we may also share in his glory.8. WE ARE GODS CHILDREN 16. Romans 8:31-32 What, then, shall we say inresponse to this? If God is for us, who can beagainst us? He who did not spare his ownSon, but gave him up for us allhow will henot also, along with him, graciously give us allthings?9. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE 17. Romans 8:33-34 Who will bring any chargeagainst those whom God has chosen? It isGod who justifies. Who is he that condemns?Christ Jesus, who diedmore than that, whowas raised to lifeis at the right hand of Godand is also interceding for us.9. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE 18. Romans 8:35-37 Who shall separate us fromthe love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship orpersecution or famine or nakedness or dangeror sword? As it is written: "For your sake weface death all day long; we are considered assheep to be slaughtered." No, in all thesethings we are more than conquerors throughhim who loved us.9. GOD IS ON OUR SIDE 19. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced thatneither death nor life, neither angels nordemons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, noranything else in all creation, will be able toseparate us from the love of God that is inChrist Jesus our Lord.9.
