It’s Your Time To Shine-Holiday Outfits
Hey SYSter! It's YOUR time to shine!
Christmas is only a few weeks away... and it's time to shine in festive style.
As the holiday season rolls around, all too often we find ourselves stressed out with so much to do...yet so little time! This year can be different. We can simplify things by not over-scheduling ourselves and our family, and by deciding on what to wear to that holiday party this week!

Starting to feel like Santa? Your "to do" and shopping lists are starting to get longer and longer. You're beginning to get worried you'll be invited to a festive event and won't
know what to wear. Or perhaps you've already accepted an invitation, but are clueless about what you can wear? Oh yeah one more thing, your budget is extremely limited! No worries. Don't turn down any holiday events this season! MSP has your back (or at least your festive clothing suggestions right here).
The holiday season always gets me excited about dressing-up in festive attire. I’m a gal that loves a bit of sparkle and shine thrown in with a touch of glitz (worn tastefully of course). It’s the holidays and it’s your time to SHINE!
Before you warm-up that credit card at the stores, shop your closet first!
Start with your Little Black Dress. Start with your “Little Black Dress” (LBD or Little BASIC Dress in any dark neutral color)
Below, this “fit and flare” dress style is perfect for ALL body types! Do you have one?

Here comes your little black dress to the rescue…once again! Start with your little black dress and use it as your “blank canvas”. What will you wear with it to create your festive look this season?
For a dressy-glitzy party look: add a statement necklace or bold earrings and perhaps a cocktail ring. A clutch in a bright red, fuchsia or emerald green will complete your look.
For an edgy, more casual vibe: wear a moto-inspired jacket, red tartan plaid scarf and tall boots.
Start with classic black pants or dressy dark denims. Pull out those wardrobe classics yet again. Use them as your base for creating a fabulous party look.
For a family or friend casual get-together: wear a cozy sweater with metallic threading, cinch in the waist with a bright, metallic gold or silver skinny belt. Bam!
It’s the season to sparkle and shine! I love this outfit because it also pulls in a classic black blazer from your closet..
Dillards Calvin Klein Notch Collar Jacket (size 2-16, 6 colors!) Calvin Klein Plus Size 2-Button Jacket-4 colors
Start with any suiting piece. This is the time of year to wear your business suiting in a casual way. Take apart that office suiting (your dark pinstripe blazer with matching slacks or pencil skirt) and ONLY WEAR ONE PIECE.
Add something sheer or drapey to your “business” suiting piece and you’ve got a classy look for the holidays!
1. black blazer 2. merlot palazzo pant 3. faux leather topper 4. “fun” shoe
The delicate ruffly satin top softens the sharp lines of your classic suiting, while the deep merlot red combines with navy for a fab “non-black” look…
Start with one piece of “glitz”. It can be a jacket, a pair of printed dressy pants (like the ones shown below) a pencil skirt, or a sweater or cardigan with metallic threads or sparkly sequins. Find that ONE glitz piece, then build around it.
Puttin’ on the glitz. Wear something sparkly and fun this season.
This outfit below is warm, yet a festive look for the holidays…

Start with a crisp white button-down shirt. It’s your basic shirt that comes to your style rescue once again. Dress it up or dress it down because it goes with anything!
Use your crisp white shirt as your base layer. Now add over the top a jewel-toned sweater, a red “puffer” vest, or pair it with printed pants or an animal print skirt.

A few more style tips for putting together your festive outfit.
Don’t wear too much glitz. A piece (or two) is all you need
Wear red or green
Wear something metallic (gold, bronze, silver)
Think texture: sequins, leather, faux fur, fuzzy
Wear a dressier shoe than normal
Carry a beaded clutch
Find your festive style inside your closet!
