Dear Colleagues,
The 11th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH 2019) will bring together 1,500 people working in or interested in tropical medicine or global health to share and discuss their knowledge and experience in this important field.
Every two years, communities of health professionals, researchers, scientists and students come together from academic, clinical, NGO and industry settings across the world to attend ECTMIH, which is an initiative of the Federation of European Societies of Tropical Medicine and International Health (FESTMIH). Next year the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is proud to host ECTMIH 2019, on the 25th anniversary of FESTMIH, celebrating and looking forward to strong collaboration across Europe and beyond on these global challenges.
ECTMIH 2019 is taking place at the Arena & Conference Centre (ACC) in Liverpool, UK on 16-20 September 2019. The theme of the meeting is 25 years: investigation, innovation and implementation. Through six scientific tracks, plenary talks, discussions and workshops we will be encouraging professionals of all career stages to share their case studies of research, implementation, policy influence and more. Celebrating the advances made in the last 25 years of tropical medicine and international health and looking to the next 25, we will cover prevention, treatment and underlying health systems. We also have a focus on age related healthcare, looking at maternal and child health as well as the health of adolescents and those in old age and palliative care. We’ll also consider external factors that affect health, including animal health, the environment and population movements. There will be a place for early career researchers and professionals to be involved.
Contribute to this incredible meeting by showcasing your knowledge and expertise among a cross-sectoral network. Join us in helping to shape the conversations of the future. Help us to make ECTMIH 2019 a meeting that sets the scene for the future of tropical medicine and international health.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in September 2019 in Liverpool.

The Federation was founded in 1995 at Hamburg, during the first European Congress on Tropical Medicine. Fifteen European countries are currently represented on the Federation Council by their respective national societies. FESTMIH provides a strong platform for collaboration toward common goals with sister Societies and colleagues in the South. The objectives of FESTMIH are to build upon the interdisciplinary expertise of the national Societies in Europe, for developing European collaboration and North-South partnership towards health development in the tropics, in respect of regional specificities.
The Federation wants specifically to promote harmonisation of health strategies and recommendations related to developing countries, emergency situations and international travellers, to seek the advice from overseas partners for pertinent identification of their health and research priorities,
to foster the formation in the tropics of new scientific societies dealing with health sciences, to encourage European harmonisation of training in tropical medicine, and to organise in Europe regular conferences on tropical medicine and international health, as a platform for debate on European research and cooperation in international health.
FESTMIH is co-publisher of the periodical journal “Tropical Medicine and International Health (TM&IH)” and has become one of the leading journals in its field.

Reservation of booth space and/or other sponsorship items will only be accepted if a signed contract is received and confirmed by the Congress Secretariat. For any questions please contact:[email protected].
PaymentAll invoices – without any exception and regardless of organisation rules – must be paid on the deadline mentioned on the invoices. By signing the Reservation Contract organisations accept this regulation.
In the event of default of payment on the date indicated on the invoice, the client is compelled to pay an interest of 12% per year (1% per commenced month) on the total amount due and a compensation of 10% with a minimum of 500 Euro and this without prior reminder or notice.
Any default of payment of one of our invoices on the expiry day is automatically accompanied by a claim for immediate payment of all other invoices with later expiry dates. In this case, we have the right to cancel all booked orders: this cannot lead to a claim of damages against us. On the other hand, we do retain the right of claiming compensation.
In case payments are not made in time, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the booth space and/or to deny access to organisation representatives or booth builders of the organisations in question. In any event, the amount due – as invoiced – remains to be paid.
Any person or organisation placing an order which is to be paid for by a third party, is personally responsible for payment, even if we agree with this procedure. In case of contention, only the courts of Ghent, Belgium are in charge.
Final allocation of the booths will be made according to the total amount of sponsorship (diamond, platinum, gold, silver and bronze) and the date of the booth space reservation.
Exhibitors wishing to avoid being located next to competitors can indicate this on the contract. Access will be denied to all company representatives and/or booth builders if the organisation has not fulfilled its financial obligations.
CancellationsIn case of cancellation or reduction of booth space or sponsorship, the contracted amount remains mandatory and non-refundable.
5% discount until 31 December 20185% Discount will be applied for reservations until 31 December 2018. This discount applies to booth spacebookings and extra opportunities. To benefit from this discount, the invoice must be paid before 15 February 2019.
