Signing On to the POS

Objectives

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:– Successfully log on to the POS (Point-of-Sale)

– Identify the different features of the main screen in the POS

Log On

Office Depot uses a Point of Sale (otherwise referred to as a POS system) for all the transactions made in a store.

This system will allow you to process transactions with various types of tender such as checks, credit cards, cash and merchant cards; conduct returns; apply loyalty discounts; and so forth.

The POS system will also perform other functions such as logging in and out, void line items and suspend or resume transactions.

Login

The first step to use the system is to log on. Follow these steps to log on:

Enter your Associate Number

Enter “489776” in the Associate Number field.

Enter your Password

Enter “Password1” in the Password field.

Accept

Press F7/Accept

Main ScreenAfter you have successfully logged on, the main screen displays.
