What you need: large playing areaWhat you do: Have the children stand side by side on the edge of the playingarea. Have a leader stand on the opposite side from the children. When the leader

holds up his arm, the children should walk forward. When his arm goes down, the

children should freeze. Once the children reach the leader, choose another child to

be the king and continue playing.

What you say: Today in our story we learned about Queen Esther. The Jewishpeople were in trouble, and she needed to talk to the king to help save them. Why

was she scared to talk to the king? She would get in trouble if she went to see him

without an invitation. She prayed that God would help her to be bold and then she

went and talked to the king. The Jewish people were saved! If you ask God, he will

help you be bold to do things that might scare you too!

What you need: two toilet paper or paper towel tubesWhat you do: Divide the children into two teams and have them line up on thesame side of the playing area. Give the starting child from each team a "scepter"(paper towel or toilet paper tube). At your signal, have them run to a designated

spot on the other side of the playing area, turn, run back and pass the scepter to the

next child in line. Continue the game, having the children hop, skip, walk back-

    wards, etc. through the relay.

What you need: nothingWhat you do: Have the children sit on the floor in front of you so that they can allclearly see your face. Show an emotion with just your face and see if the children

can guess what it is (i.e. joy, sadness, anger, etc.). Continue playing, but choose a

child to come to the front to make a face for the rest of the children to guess.
