Active learning in 1st Grade
Some learn best by sitting in a desk, some get their wiggles out on a bouncy ball while they work, and some students learn best sitting on the
carpet. Our students are actively learning throughout the day!

Welcome to the Catholic Faith! Congratulations to Aaliyah L. who made her
First Communion this week during our School Mass.
8th grade American History
Our 8th grade students are discussing History. They are describing major domestic problems faced by the leaders of the new republic, listen closely and you will hear discussions of the
XYZ Affair, the Election of 1800 and Jefferson's Policies, American settlers moving West , the Louisiana Purchase , and the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Second Grade Resolutions
Our Second Graders made resolutions for 2019. Here are a few: “I want to wake up early for school so I won’t be late.” “...to try to not eat candy and to do better on tests” “to do my chores without being
asked” “helping my mom and dad do the dishes”.
The St. Pius X Stephen Ministers are ready to serve. If you come across an adult who is hurting for any reason (grief, job loss, illness, caregiver stress, move, etc.) and could use some-one outside of their family and friends just to listen, please let us know. The person does not have to be Catholic and does not have to be a parishioner. Even if they are outside of our geo-graphic area, we can refer them to another Stephen Ministry church. For more information, please see our website: https://stpiusxsa.org/stephen-ministry
PreK-3
Our PreK-3 students are enjoying their morning centers
time. They are learning communication skills and
social interaction.
Children in our ELC program are able to seamlessly continue their Catholic education from
our ELC program into the first grade through
eighth grade at St. Pius X Catholic School.
In fact, life-long friendships have been
established and continue well beyond the years spent at
St. Pius X.

Prayer has a huge ebb and flow. When we try to pray, sometimes we walk on water and sometimes
we sink like a stone. Sometimes we have a deep sense of God’s reality and sometimes we can’t
even imagine that God exists. Sometimes we have deep feelings about God’s goodness and love,
and sometimes we feel only boredom and distraction. Sometimes our eyes fill with tears and we
wish we could stay in our prayer-place forever, and sometimes our eyes wander furtively to our
wristwatches to see how much time we still need to spend in prayer. —from Prayer: Our Deepest Longing
Our 3rd graders enjoyed their library class this week. A quiet corner to enjoy a new book is always a fun treat!
