    Thirty-Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

Message from Father Rich What perfect timing in that the roofers are scheduled to be here this week to replace the slate roof of the Church. A reminder that the Parish Auction is going towards this needed improvement, any excess money will be used to help fund the eventual tuck-pointing of the Church. We have also received the second installment of the 40% money collected from Beyond Sunday Campaign in the amount of $8,461.67, in addition to the $39,964.82 col-lected plus interest received last year. This money is set aside for the tuck-pointing as well. Last year I received a bid of $180,000 to do this project. Hopefully, the new lights for the Church will be here very shortly and will make a major difference in the brightness in Church. For the 150th celebration we are having a Pictorial Directory. Our last pictorial directory is out-dated and it is time for a new one. Please make an appointment to have your picture taken at one of the sign-up locations at the back of church. Sign-ups will be on Nov 18/19, 25/26 and Dec 2/3 for your picture to be scheduled for Dec 27—30. Your partici-pation will help the church and yourself. Every family pho-tographed for the directory will receive a copy of the direc-tory and an 8x10 portrait at no cost. You will also have an opportunity to purchase additional portraits at the time of photography. So please sign-up. Thanks

Eucharistic Adoration (Tuesday, 8:30 am to Wednesday 7:30 am) “Come spend an hour with Me” Participants Needed During This Hour: Participants are always welcome and needed to come and pray any hour. If you can cover an hour or are available to be a sub, please call Barb (665-5482) or Bonnie (314-520-8599). Thank you

33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Reflection: “…Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you, so that you might imitate us.” 2 THESSALONIANS 3:9 Most people who live a grateful and generous lifestyle don’t go around bragging about it. But through their actions and words, others do take notice. They notice because of the joy and peace that results and other people desire this in their own life. Know that the way you live your life may be the only interaction others have with the Catholic faith.

Bulletin Deadline: Due to the upcoming holiday. The bulletin for Sunday the 27th is due Thursday, Nov. 17. Please have all entries in prior to 9:00 am on the 17th. Thanks

Deacon Neal’s Corner… As we near the end of the Church year, we see in the first reading and the Gos-pel, some words about what it will be like at the end of the world. In the first reading, Malachi states that the proud and all evildoers will be like stubble and the day that is coming will set them on fire. In the Gospel, Jesus tells us that we will suffer persecution for our faith, maybe even be put to death. But each reading ends with Good News! “ You who fear my name (the Lord), there will arise the sun of justice with healing rays.”And “By your perseverance you will secure your lives.” God doesn’t want us to get hung up on the “End Times” like some other faiths. We are to persevere in our faith because the “End Times” for all of us is the day we die. And none of us are promised tomorrow. So live each day like it is the last day of your life. Show your love for God by your love for others.

This re-treat will focus on them and their con-tinued impact on the faith community of God’s people. The cost is $190 per participant, which includes 6 meals, and will be led by Fr. Tom Santen, Lucia Signorelli and Steve Givens. For more information call (636) 938-5390 or go to www.mretreat.org
