Subject : - Gnmt of Dearness Uclief to lIimachal Pradesh Government 1" {~nsioncrs/Family Pensioners-Revised rate effective from 01 -01-2017.
T he undersigned is directed to refer to thi s
department 's O.M. No. f in (Pcn)[l( I Q)-6/98-1I1 , dated
71h April, 2017 sanction ing OIlC insta lment of dearness rel ief with
effect from 01-07-2016 and to say that the Governor, Himachal
Pradesh is p\eiJsed to dec ide that dearness relief payable to the
Il imachal Pradesh Government Pcnsioners/ f-amily Pensioners shall
be ~nhanced from existing rate of 130 % to 134 % w.c.f.
0\ -0 \-20 17. The Governor, Himachal Pradesh is further pleased to
dec ide that dearness relie f payab le to the pensioners/fam ily
p(~n s ioners of A ll Ind ia Services o f Himachal Pradesh Cadre who
are drawing their pension in revised pay sca les !revised pension
shall be enhanced n'om present rate of20/0 to 4% w.e.r. 1-1-20 I 7.
Payment of Dearness relief involving a fract ion of a
rupee shall be rounded off to I h ~ next higher rupee. , o. Other provisions governing grant or dearness relief to
pensioners such as reg ula tion of dearness re lief du ring
cmploy ment/rc-cmploymcnt, regu lation of clearness relief where
more than one pension is drawn etc., will rema in unchanged.
4. As dearness relief w ill now be at a uniform rate, it has
been decided to dispense wi th the issue of enclosing ready
reckoner a longwith the dearness relief orders. It will be the
responsibility of the pension d isbursing authority , inc luding the
Nat ionalized I3anks, etc. to calculate the quantum of dearness relief
payable in each indiv idual casco
5. The addi tional rate of Dearness Relie f 4% and 20/0
(enhanced from 130% to 134% and 2% to 4%) shall be paid w ith
the pension/family pension for the month of September, 2017
payable in the month of October, 20 17. The arrears accrued on
account of dearness relief w.c.r 01 -01-2017 to 3 1-08-20 17
shall be paid in cash in one insta lment a long with pension Ifamily
pension for the month of September, 20 17 payable in month of
OClober, 2017.
6. The Acco untant General , Treasury Officers and
authorized Public Sector Banks arc requested to arrange the
payment of Dearness Rel ief to pensioners on the basis of these
orders.
