You’re ready to start a new chapter of life, check out the points below: Find Housing Consider cost, location, commute, friends, culture & environment – all these things are essential to your college experience Moving Tips Pack the essentials, plan for weather, budget in the costs Create a Budget Separate your expenses into categories: groceries, gas, rent, etc. Mint is a great budgeting resource! Plan Out Your Classes Meet with a campus counselor who can help you plan not just the upcoming semester, but the years & semesters to come. Complete Your FAFSA Remember, you apply every year! Know the difference between grants (money you don’t have to pay back) and loans (money you’ll pay back at a later date). Juniors It’s never too early to plan for college. Check out the points below: Idaho Career Information System (CIS) Stop by the Career Center to search thousands of scholarships & take an assessment to find out which career best matches your interests & personality – and where you should go to college to do best in your career! SAT/ACT Preparation Every college requires scores from one of these tests. Be aware of deadlines & register for practice tests to help you achieve your highest score. Internships Beef up your resume with hands-on experience in the major you plan on going into – or serve your community through volunteer work & service. Summer Jobs Save money for college & gain real life experience!
