From the Commander

Since redeployment last December, the Charlie Cobras have been undergoing reset

and recovery. The detachment is enthusiastically reintegrating itself into the Vicenza

community and readying to accept challenges. On March 1, the Cobras will officially take over

MILPAY operations from Italy Finance Office (IFO), in addition to sharing a limited disbursing

role. This changeover will allow us to provide direct support to 4,000 troops and their families

in this community. Our soldiers’ eagerness to resume the mission after coming off a grueling

deployment is a testament to their professionalism and fortitude. They truly embody the

detachment’s motto to ‘Strive for Excellence’. I am confident of our Soldiers’ ability that they

will continue to embrace the opportunity to demonstrate their desire for excellence.

“Strive for Excellence”

From the Detachment Sergeant

The Charlie Cobras must stay focused as we finish reintegrating and transition to resuming

financial operations. Our main focus will be on incorporating battle rhythms, training, and sharing

information. We must also focus on establishing personal routines and family time. Now is our time to

reestablish relationships and continue to reconnect with our family, leadership, customers, and

community. As the daily business increases, it is important that we continue to develop and act as one

team. Our mission requires us to be able to multitask and be multipurpose. With regard to the future,

we will begin to look and plan ahead and not be blinded by upcoming PCS or ETS. We will embrace

what’s in front of us and take advantage of the opportunities we have to improve our operation. Let’s

continue to build on a great reputation and always “Strive for Excellence”.
