104 surah al-munafiqun (the hypocrites)
DESCRIPTION
What does “Islam” mean? The word الإسلام [Islam] is an infinitive word derived from س ل م [silm] root in if‘al pattern and used as noun and infinitive. The word silm means “release/keeping away; and to be distant from fear, doubt, trouble, lack of peace, unhappiness, fight, war, pain, suffering, material and spiritual inconveniences, weakness and decaying, and all the negativities.” This word is also the root of salim, selam, teslim, Islam etc. The word’s “Islam” form means “strengthening” [removal from problems, worries, fear, unhappiness, fights, wars, and similar negative things]. Hence, the religion Islam means the “the religion that strengthens humans [entire range of principles that protects and secures people by putting a distance between them and problems, worries, war, weakness, spiritual illness, unhappiness, and similar things].”TRANSCRIPT
SURAH AL-MUNAFIQUN (THE HYPOCRITES)

1When the hypocrites come to you, they said: “Indeed we testify that you surely are the messenger of Allah”. Allah knows that you are His messenger. And Allah testifies that the hypocrites are surely the liars.
2They have made their oaths shields and forbidden people from the path of Allah. Surely, evil is what they do.
3This is because they believed and then disbelieved. Thus sealed were their hearts, now they cannot comprehend fully.
4When you see them, their massive built –they are like tree trunks propped up/dishabille- you admire them. and you heed when they speak. They assume every cry is against themselves. They are hostile, therefore evade and avoid them. –Allah has cursed them, see how they are averted!-
5,6And when they are told: “Come, so the messenger of Allah may ask forgiveness for you”, they turn their heads aside. And you see them acting arrogantly and turning away. It is same for them if you ask forgiveness for them or not. Allah will not have mercy upon them; will not forgive them. Surely, Allah will never guide a people who have gone astray from the righteous path.
7They say: “Do not spend for/support financially those who are beside the Messenger of Allah so they will scatter away”. But, treasures of the Heavens and the Earth belong to Allah. But the hypocrites are unable to comprehend.
8They say “Surely, should we return to Medina, those who are exalted in power and honor will surely expel those who are weak in power and honor from there”. But power, honor and exaltedness belong to Allah, His Messenger and the believers. However, the hypocrites do not know that.

9O you who have believed! Do not let your wealth and children distract you from remembering Allah. Whoever does that; they are the losers and sufferers.
10And before death comes to one of you and he says: “O my Rabb [the Lord, the Cherisher, the Nurturer, the Sustainer]! Postpone my time for a close while so I

may give Sadaqa and be among the righteous”, spend for the cause of Allah from that which We bestow upon you as blessing.
11Allah will never postpone a soul who is end of his term. And Allah is aware of what you do.
