Pettis County 4-H Recognition Banquet

Thursday, November 16 at 6:00pm At St. Paul’s School Gym

All 4-H members are invited to attend along with Project Leaders, Extension Council Members, 4-H Founda-tion members and 4-H family members. Please RSVP to the Extension Center by Thursday, Nov 9, by calling 660-827-0591 or emailing Nan at [email protected]

Committee of Committees - COC The idea for COC evolved from the Council’s need to simplify the calendar in order to make nightly committee meetings more manageable. COC essentially wraps up all the Council Committees into one night per month. There will be time slots for each topic and the goal is to cover several different topics at each meeting, once per month. We will let Council Members know the agenda beforehand. If there is someone specifically interested in helping plan one event, we should know when we will meet on that topic. We hope youth can be involved in the whole meeting, but understand that time can be limited.

Pettis County 4-H will hold the monthly COC on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Extension Center.

Ringen Brushy 4-H Club

The Ringen Brushy 4-H Club met Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the Smithton School Cafeteria. President Kandyn Hotsenpiller called the meeting to order. Jonathan Curtis lead the pledges. Roll was taken by Secretary Madalyn Amos and 39 members were present. The club welcomed 10 new members. Treasurer Shelbi Miller read the treasurer’s report and it was approved as read. In old business club members voted on a t-shirt design and what color the shirt is going to be. The Pettis County Carnival is October 14th and members need to sign up to work our game. Members were also asked to bring baked goods for the bake sale. In new business we installed our new officers. Congratulations to the 2018 club officers! Loralei Strange gave a demonstration about barrel racing and Madalyn, Summer, and Shelbi talked about their experiences on the CWF trip. We had a few kids who went to the county wide Lock-In and they gave reports about that. They all really enjoyed it and plan to go back. For our November community ser-vice project we will be having a coat/blanket drive. So make sure to bring things in either used in good condition or new coats/blankets. The announcements were read by President Kandyn Hotsenpiller and with no further business the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted by Haleigh Ferguson

West Central Energizer *Save the Date*

Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Clinton, Mo This is a fun day full of different workshops where 4-H members, parents, and volunteers can experiment, explore

and discover new and exciting projects or areas of interest. Participants can choose 3 workshops throughout the day. West Central Region puts on the BEST Energizer in the whole state, so come and see what all the hype is about!

Christmas Parades

Pettis County 4-H will have an entry into the Sedalia Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2. Plans are still being made, so it will either be a walking float, or a truck/trailer float. Any 4-H member is invited to participate in

this fun event.

Pettis County 4-H will also participate in the Hughesville 50th Annual Christmas Parade in the afternoon of Satur-day, December 2. We plan on using the same decorations and walking to represent Pettis County 4-H. Might as

well make it an all day event for the family!! If you are busy in another float for the Sedalia parade, the Hughesville parade can be a fun opportunity to participate in the 4-H float.

Look out for more information as plans come into play.
