6. Pull the grille straight out to release the lower mounting tabs. Place the factory grille onto a clean flat worksurface for the following dissassembly procedure.

5. Pull the top of the grille towards you, then reach downalong the sides of the grille and press in on the outerportion of the side mounting tabs to release them fromthe bumper cover.

4. Remove the center 10mm hex bolt from the top of thegrille.

3. Use a flat blade screwdriver and twist the outer retainingclips 90 degrees and pull them straight up to remove.

7. Upon removal of the grille, apply masking tape to thechrome surround and Lexus emblem to protect the finish(not shown).8. Pry off the retainers on the studs protruding from theback of the factory Lexus emblem, then push in on thebottom tab to remove the emblem and backing from thefactory grille.

9. Begin removing the factory grille insert by removing theplastic push fasteners located one each side at the top ofthe grille. Lift up on the center of the push pin to releaseit.

16. Install the supplied .045 x 1 double faced tape to theback surface of the side and bottom mounting plates(not shown). Peel back the double faced tape backingfrom one of the corners on the bottom mounting brack-et, then center the bracket with the casting mark on theinside edge of the factory chrome surround.

18. Align the side mounting plates use the same method.

17. View show the installed bottom mounting plate buttingup against the installed edge guard.

20. Align the top plate and make sure that the outer holesline up with the existing holes in the chrome factory sur-round on both ends. Install the factory plastic push pinsremoved in Step 9.

19. Attach the mesh section to the bottom and side mount-ing plates using the supplied #8 x 3/8 black truss headscrews.

******* IMPORTANT! *******The exposed edges of the stainlesssteel mesh can be extremely sharp.

Please handle with care.

21. Make sure that the mesh section is underneath the topmounting plate. Use a 7/64 drill bit to drill through theexisting holes in the top mounting plate and throughthe factory chrome surround (as shown). Drill slowlyand carefully and do not drill through the face of the

factory chrome surround! Set drill bit for short depth.22. Install the supplied 1/2 No.6 countersunk phillipsscrews to secure the top plate (not shown).

24. Install the supplied double faced tape to the back of thefactory emblem. Trim the edges carefully to not damagethe chrome plating. Do not allow any tape to protrudepast the edges of the emblem.

23. Use a plastic Squeegee to seperate the factory emblemfrom the base. Do not use a metal tool such as a screwdriver or you will damage the edges of the emblem.

25. Remove the double faced tape backing, carefully alignthe emblem over the emblem mounting plate and pressfirmly enough to set the tape.

26. Install the emblem assembly onto the mesh section(make sure it is perfectly centered) using the suppliedemblem mounting washers, s.s. lock washers and the s.s.hex nuts (not shown). Trim the black plastic washers toremove any portion that is visible through the meshgrille.

27. Use needle nose plyers to squeeze and push out therubber trim clips, removing the factory rubber mould-ing.

28. Reinstall the factory rubber weatherstrip onto the topplate. The ends of the rubber weatherstrip fit behind thefactory chrome surround.

29. Unbolt the horns and the electrical component from theradiator support panel (10mm and 12mm socketwrenches) for lower mesh grille hardware installationaccess.

30. Install the supplied double faced tape to face of thelower retaining brackets w/pins (as shown).

32. Align the mesh section over the lower surround andinstall the bendable brackets onto the studs using thesupplied #8-32 ESNA half nuts.

31. Align the lower mounting brackets, making sure thepins are against the inside edge of the factory chromegrille surround and flush with the outer edge of thelower mesh retaining bracket.

33. Align the surround and mesh section into place andbend the mounting brackets around the factory lowergrille insert. Access the mounting hardware through theupper grille opening

34. Carefully remove the protective masking tape by pullingback over itself to minimize the tape breaking. You mayneed to push or pull on the surround if the tape bindsunder the stainless steel surround.

35. Measure and mark the exact center of the bumper covergrille opening. Cut out and align the supplied hole loca-tion template into place, then use masking tape to holdin place. The front edge of the template must align withthe edge of the grille opening. Use an awl or similarpointed tool to mark the hole locations, untape the tem-plate, flip it over, tape it in place and mark the holes onthe opposite side.

36. Use a .125 (1/8) drill bit to drill through the marksmade in the previous step. Use the drill bit to connect

the holes, making mounting slots.

37. Align the assembled grille into place, making sure thelower mounting pins fit down into the slots made in theprevious step.

38. Installed the supplied plastic push pins to secure theouter edges of the grille assembly to the bumper cover.

39. Reinstall the center 10mm hex bolt.

40. Reinstall the plastic engine bay panels previouslyremoved.
