DESCRIPTION

Penguin updates are a difficult topic for hundreds of thousands of online business owners across the world as everyone waits for the arrival of the long awaited Penguin 3.0 from Google. Some companies have been waiting for almost twelve months for a Penguin "refresh" so to finally recognize the hundreds of hours of link removal work they have done to lift manual actions and restore backlink profiles to good standing. It would seem to many that the only thing necessary for a recovery to happen is the arrival of the Penguin update, but the team at rmoov.com talks to many of those affected (and some who aren't) every day. Over the course of the past few months these conversations we have been concerned to find that some site owners may not be truly prepared when the Google Penguin algorithm is updated. In this webinar, Sha Menz takes you through ten simple tools and techniques you can use to ensure that your site is in the best shape possible for the next Penguin release. Whether your site has already been affected by a Google penalty or not, these are things you should be thinking about.

Check existing redirects

If 301 redirects are passing PageRank they will pass link issues too!

1. Check for manipulative redirects from Exact Match Domains

2. Check for redirects from other domains with penalty issues

You have two options:

3. Remove the redirects

4. Stop them passing PageRank by redirecting through a page that is blocked from search engines by robots.txt.

Check for site redirects that might be a “fail”
