DUNES IN SŁOWIŃSKI NATIONAL PARK

Slowinski National Park was established in 1967. This is the largest dune area in Poland. It occupies about 500 hectares. The dunes reach a height of over 30 m above sea-level and when they move with the wind, they travel at a rate of approximately 3-10 m per year. When the masses of sand rise for a few meters and transfer directly to the forest and lakes, they create unforgettable views. In addition, we can see there coastal lakes, marshes, meadows, bogs, forests and coastal forests.

DUNAJEC IN TATRA MOUNTAINS

In the south of Poland there are the highest mountains in this country – Tatra Mountains. We can admire there among others: beautiful views of slopes and many of protected animals species. However, many tourists attract beautiful lakes (eg Morskie Oko) and rivers. Most tourists going to the Dunajec. Dunajec River Gorge is one of the most popular tourist routes in Poland. Daily river transports about 3 000 visitors. Annually to Szczawnica flows 25 000 excursionists. Dunajec River Rafting is a very interesting way to watch inside the Pieniński National Park. Tour takes place with the watchful eye of well-trained oarsmen. All share one thing - no one leaves boat unhappy!

HAŃCZA LAKE

Hańcza Lake is located in the Suwalki region. Its depth is 108.5 meters and it is the deepest lake in Poland and throughout Central Europe. The lake lies in the Suwalki Landscape Park and it is a nature reserve so that the whole is protected.In 1974 Hańcza was listed as a UNESCO Project Aqua because of its depth, and also thanks to the high underwater walls, formed from glacial deposits. The lake is an attractive place to practice diving.

MACZUGA HERKULESA IN OJCOWSKI NATIONAL

PARKOjcowski National Park was established in

1956.On its territory there are many monuments such as Castle in Ojcowo, Castle in Pieskowa Skała, Chapel „On the Water. However, Maczuga Herkulesa is the most recognizable thing in Ojcowski National Park. It is nothing but a limestone rock in the shape of a mace. It is 25 meters high. It is a characteristic feature of the landscape Prądnik Valley. In the valley, which is considered as the prettiest in the Krakow-Czestochowa Jura, there are caves, where lived Neanderthals.

WIELICZKA

The historic Salt Mine in Wieliczka is the only mine in the world functioning continuously since the Middle Ages to the present. Its original excavations (passages, ramps, chambers, lakes, shafts) with a total length of about 300 km on 9 levels, reaching to a depth of 327 meters they illustrate all the stages of mining technology development in the various historical periods.

Wieliczka salt mine has the status of the monument and is protected by law. In 1976 it was listed in the register of national monuments, and two years later in the First World Heritage List of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

OLD TOWN IN GDAŃSKThe northern part of old Gdańsk is surrounded by 3 streets. They create Old Town - a district of seafarers, port workers and guild houses, shelters and hospitals. There are six churches. Gdańsk became the first victim of Hitler's attack. In the morning the Germans attacked Westerplatte. They won the whole city and incorporated them into the Third Reich. During 6 years of war killed the intelligentsia, activists Polish organization and thousands of different Polish people. The city was destroyed - Old Town was in ruins in nearly 80%. Fortunately, the city was quickly rebuilt and today we can enjoy the splendor of the Old Town. Gdansk’s Old Town is one of the most beautiful in Europe.

WAWEL IN CRACOWWawel Castle is a place of coronation of

Polish kings and their eternal rest. It is the greatest monument of architecture in Poland and a priceless national monument. Its walls are hidden remnants of pre-Romanesque buildings, Romanesque and Gothic. It has got the Renaissance style thanks to King Sigismund I the Old in the years 1507-1536. The great castle complex consists of the outer courtyard. In 1978, the Wawel Castle was listed in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU MUSEUM IN OŚWIĘCIM

Auschwitz - Birkenau is a museum of German concentration camps, including concentration camp in Auschwitz and the nearby town which existed from 1940-1945. It is the symbol of the Holocaust. In 1940 in these areas, the German authorities have set up camp, originally designed for the deposition and the opposition political prisoners, mostly Polish. Then it was gradually expanded in the main place of mass extermination of approximately one million Jews from across Europe, and many Polish, Gypsies, Soviet prisoners of war and victims of other nationalities. It is the only concentration camp located on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

OLD TOWN IN WROCŁAW

Old Town is not only historical but also cultural and social center of the city. We can find there not only the finest examples of urban architecture, but also the best shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and museums.

In the heart of Market Square there are many baroque buildings, carefully reconstructed after World War II. Next to the Market Square there is the Church of Saint Elizabeth - fourteenth-century Gothic edifice. The tower of the church is an excellent vantage point, where we can see all Wrocław.A little further there is the Jewish district of Wrocław.

ROYAL CASTLE IN WARSAW

Royal Castle is the baroque royal castle located in Warsaw at the Castle Square.

Originally, it was the residence of the dukes of Mazovia, and since the sixteenth century it was the seat of Polish governement. In the nineteenth century, after the November Uprising, it was intended for the Russian administration. During World War I it was the residence of the German Governor General. In 1939 it was burnt and pillaged by the Germans, and in 1944 almost completely destroyed. After 1971 it was rebuilt and reconstructed. Today it is a monument of history and national culture. In 1980, the Royal Palace, with the Old Town was inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage Site.
