Computer/Projector (Use your computer/ projector to go over it together as a class)

Grade Level: 9Ice Breakers for the Start of the School Year

The purpose of the Exploring Career Clusters is to provide students with knowledge and experiences that will contribute to making informed choices regarding their educational plans.

1. Expose students to many different technological career fields within the Career Clusters. 2. Assist the student to gain insights into their personal interests and aptitudes with respect to the Career Fields.

Goals:

 Teachers Instructions:Ask the students if they know what they want to be when they grow up to start a class discussion? Ask do they know which of the 16 Career Clusters they fall under? Read each Career Cluster description out loud and name more careers that align with the cluster. Example: Cluster 1: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources you could become a farmer.

Refer to The Sixteen Career Cluster Handout and The Sixteen Career Clusters Sample Occupations sheets as a reference.  Students Instructions:Participate in classroom discussion Take notes on handout
