Everyone has heard of the famous Poundland. The chain can be seen all across Britain and with 70 stores opening every year, their success is growing by the day. It is well known for its low-cost food products and toiletries but what items would you be surprised at finding in this retailer?

1. Decking

Yes decking! This store really does have everything. Costing just one pound per square it comes in at a very low price. When scanning this item the cashier said: "Decking? You

see something new everyday in this place".

2. Hair Fascinator

Got a wedding coming up? This hair fascinator is just one of the many hair accessories that were available from the shop. It came in a range of different colours and styles so there is probably one to suit any outfit. When asked about the variety of products in Poundland a shopper commented: "I regularly shop in Poundland but had no idea that they sold half of

the things in your shopping basket!".

3. Stiletto Wraps

Forget £400 Louboutin high heels. Painting your soles at home to make them look more expensive? These stiletto wraps will add a touch of glamour to any pair of high heels

without the hassle of painting. Zebra print were the only ones left in this Poundland but red ones were also available to buy.

4. Slimming Patches

Slimming patches are comparing themselves to nicotine patches. Once applied to a certain area of the body they claim to stop hunger cravings. They can be applied to

your shoulders, back, upper arm and even under the arch of your foot.

5. Sagaform Mingle Bowl

Scandinavian brand 'Sagaform' have their 'Mingle Bowl' in Poundland stores. For those who don't know what this is, it is basically a dish for snacks which comes with a double edged

piece of cutlery. One side fork, the other spoon. Not the first thing you would think of buying in Poundland..

6. Snow Cleats

More shoe accessories?! Yes. Snow Cleats are something you can add on to your everyday shoes to help you walk in the snow. However, on average across the UK there's only 16.5 days a year

when snow is on the ground. You probably won't need to purchase these any time soon.

7. Knitting Wool

Fancy taking up a hobby in the new year? Why not try knitting. A 2013 survey of more than 3,500 knitters worldwide, found that 81.5 percent of respondents rated themselves as feeling

happier after knitting. This wool is also on a 3 for 2 offer in store.

8. Benazir Bhutto - Reconciliation

Poundland has a large book section but this one stood out on the shelf. A best-seller, this autobiography by Benazir Bhutto is an interesting read. According to the New York

Times: "it is a book of enormous intelligence, courage and clarity".

9. Bike Moustache

Another weird and wonderful product available to purchase in Poundland. The Bike Moustache. First there were eyelashes for cars and now this. With

a Velcro fastener it is easier than ever to 'Pimp Your Bike'.

10. Mini Champagne Bucket and Tongs

Having a party? Why not purchase a mini champagne bucket and tongs for the special occasion! Although an average 70cl bottle was a slight struggle to fit

inside the bucket, a mini bottle will fit perfectly.
