GENEX Nastar WCDMA is an intelligent and integrated tool developed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to optimize the radio network performance.

The Nastar WCDMA is capable of locating the network troubles through data filtering and data excavation. The Nastar WCDMA satisfies the in-depth demands proposed of the network operators through these means.

The Nastar WCDMA can:

Import and analyze the following data:

- Configuration data- Performance data- Call Historical Record (CHR) data- IOS and RTWP data

Conduct various theme analysis on

Intra-Frequency Neighbors OptimizationBased on the analysis of CHR and performance data, the Nastar WCDMA can find the missing and redundant neighbors, and take effective measures to solve them in order to guarantee the network mobility.

The Nastar WCDMA displays the troublesome areas on the map.

The pilot pollution analysis is based on the analysis of the configuration parameters, CHR, and the engineering parameter. The analysis result can be displayed on the map or exported for further analysis.

The RRC rejection is due to power congestion.

4. Solution

The reasons for RRC setup rejection due to resource congestion.

RRC_REJ_POWER_CONG_CELL : In this case, the RRC setup rejection is due to

the power congestion. It is means the configuration of CAC parameters should be

considered whether it is reasonable, if this indicator is always high, it is means that the

cell load reaches the threshold. The network needs expansion or balancing the load.

1. Right-click on the RNC Daily Report and choose the Execute option.

2. Set the date in the Generate Performance Report dialog box. To generate the daily report, the begin date should be as same as the end date.

3. Focus the mains reasons of CS call drop on the Top10 worst cells.

RNC releases the RAB, which is triggered by the RF failure in CS domain (synchronization failure on the uplink)

4. Solution

In this case, we can find the main reason of CS call drop is due to UL synchronization

failure. It should be caused by some problems of coverage or neighbour missing or

abnormal handover parameters, we recommends to check these.

If the problems were still exist after checking all parameters, the next step is to analyze t

he engineering parameters to improve the coverage, for example, to adjust the down tilt a

nd azimuth of the antenna.

If the adjustment to antenna cannot remove the coverage hole, we recommend to add ne

w sites or repeaters.

5. After the optimization, generate the RNC Weekly Report to check the KPI performance.

After the optimization on the worst cells, the call access rate in the CS or PS domain increases and call drop rate decreases.
