(iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and region
With the growing use of Granite as decorative stone the mining of Granite has
received boom in last few years. There is good market for Granite in India and
abroad also. In overseas market Granite is also exported in the form of blocks
which are used as pillars in large buildings beside decorative slabs.
The increasing mining of mineral Granite has uplifted the economy of Granite
producing localities which has resulted into upliftment of life standard of the
people in the adjoining area, besides contributing to the exchequer of the State
and Central Government.
(iv) Demand and Supply Gap: As mentioned above, the use of Granite as
decorative stone is growing constantly. Hence, despite of constantly increasing
production of Granite the whole production is consumed in the market and at
present supply of Granite is sufficient to fulfill the market demands.
(v) Imports v/s Indigenous Production
As the mineral in abundance is available indigenously so the import of the
same is not required nor economically feasible.
(vi) Export possibility
A sizeable quantity of Granite produced in the State of Rajasthan and in other
parts of the country is exported to Middle East and European Country.
(vii) Domestic/Exports Markets
There is vast domestic and export market for raw and polished Granite.
(viii) Employment generation (Direct & Indirect) due to the project
By this mining project of Granite in the area, peoples will get employment.
The project directly generates the employment for the local people and
indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the product generates the
employment for peoples. By this project, approximately 30 persons will get
direct and about 120 persons will get indirect employment.

A. Method of Mining
The proposed method of mining will be open cast mining. For the systematic
working of open cast mines, benching will be done. The height of bench will
not be kept more than 5m at a time and the width of the benches will be
always more han the height. The mining will be done with the help of
conventional tools such as Jackhammers, hand shovels, picks etc. these will be
supported by drilling and blasting. The drilling will be done with the
compressor and Jack hammer, drilling holes of 32-34mm dia. And the depth
from 0.8m to 3.3m in a single hole.
The main development work will be the systematic benching. This benching

B. Regional Geology: Geologically, Ajmer district is occupied by the Bhilwara
and Delhi Supergroups, which have been further divided into several groups
and formations.
The rock of Bhilwara Supergroups occurs from Deyi in the North-East
through Kishangarh to Sarwar area, underlying the marwar plains and
comprises metasedimentary sequences with associated magmatic complex and
igneous rocks. The main Aravalli range extending from Rupnagar in North to
Todgarh in South is occupied by the rocks of Delhi Supergroup which
comprises calcareous, argillaceous and arenaceous metasedimentary
sequences with associated basic volcanic and igneous rocks.
The rocks of the district have been complexly folded and faulted,
metamorphosed and migmatised during orogenic episodes related to different
geological cycles.
The geological sequence worked out by G.S.I. is given as under.
Geologically, the region is comsidered to be a part of Delhi & Bhilwara Super-
Group of Archaean to Lower Proterozoic in age. The Pre-Aravalli’s in
Rajasthan, Hitherto known as the Banded Gneissic complex have been re-
grouped by Geological Survey of India into Bhilwara Super-Group which
from the oldest stratigraphic horizon on which the entire geological succession
of rocks of Rajasthan has developed.
On the basis of techno environmental setting magmatic events, litho logical
homogeneity into Sandmata complex, Mangalwar Complex which are
Archaean in age and Sarwar Group, Rajpur-Jaliyan Group, Gyangarh Asind
Group have been considered to be of Lower Proterozoic in Age.

C. General Geology of the area
Granite is defined as plutonic light colored and acidic igneous rick. They are
the commonest types of igneous rocks. The word latin word “Granum”
meaning a grain and obviously refers to the texture of common rock.
Composition: The most common mineralogical constituents of the granite are
quartz and feldspars. The first is always easily recognized by its physical
properties. Feldspar, which makes up the greater part of granite, is of two
types the Potash Feldspar and Soda Feldspar.
Texture: Granite is coarse to medium grained, holocrystlline and even grained
rock. Granitic graphic, porphyritic and inter growth textures are also present
with in granite. The entire rock mass is jointed. There are two different sets of
joints running perpendicular to each other dividing the massive rock mass into
blocky formation.
Occurrence: The granite occurs chiefly as deep-seated intrusion like Sills,
Bosses, Stocks and Batholiths.
Origin: The origin of the granite is magmatic source.
D. LOCAL GEOLOGY AND EXPLORATION ALREADY CARRIED
OUT:
The detailed study of the area was done to assess the mineral quantum in the
lease area. These studies included Geological Mapping, Topographical survey
and Geological Traversing.

Detailed geological mapping of the lease area of 3.00 hects was carried out on
a scale of 1:1000. Topographical survey of the ML area was simultaneously
done. Contour interval was taken as 3.0 mts. Different litho units along with
their dimensions were marked on map. Mineralized bodies i.e. granite rock is
precisely marked. The geological plan is enclosed as plate no. 4 along with
this report.
The entire mining lease area is covered with Alluvium.
Given below is the generalized litho-units exposed on the surface of the Near
