Non-polarized sunglasses only reduce the amount of visible lightenteringtheeye,darkeningtheview.polaroid®polarizedsunglassesblockglareandallowingforperfectvision.

Visiblelightwavesfromthesuntravelinalldirections.Whensunlightreflectsoffahorizontalsurface,likearoadorwater,itoftenbecomesconcentratedhorizontally.Thisisknownasglare.Verticallightisusefultothehumaneye.itenablesustoseecoloursandcontrasts,whileconcentratedhorizontallightsimplycreatesopticalnoiseorglare,restrictingvisibilitymakingitdifficultanduncomfortabletosee.
