A champion of the eat local movement, Executive Chef David Bakker adds creative

Muskoka touches to traditional dishes that adds wow factor while appealing to all

tastes. Prior to leading the Deerhurst culinary team, Chef David held positions at

several leading Toronto hotels including the Westin Prince, Marriott Bloor Yorkville and

Four Seasons Yorkville. He has earned numerous gold medals in culinary

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the venue rental fees?

White ceremony chairs, tables, banquet chairs, white table cloths and napkins, dance floor, servers,

bartenders, set up and tear down of Deerhurst Resort items.

Additional costs would include an officiant, table centre pieces, décor, flowers, wedding cake,

photographer and DJ services.

What is your administrative fee?

Our administrative fee is 18% on food and beverage only.

If I select an outdoor ceremony venue, what if it is inclement weather on the day of our wedding?

Understanding that Mother Nature does not always cooperate, an indoor back up room is provided at

no additional cost. The specific venue will be confirmed two weeks before your wedding date.

When can I start setting up our reception venue?

Two weeks prior to your wedding date, your Wedding Catering Manager will confirm the specific time

you will have access to your reception venue to decorate.

Are we allowed to use candles during our reception?

Yes, you can definitely use candles but the flames must be contained below the top of a glass

vase/holder as per regulations set by the Ontario Fire Marshall.

Can we bring and serve our own alcohol?

Due to the requirements of our liquor license, alcohol must be provided and served by Deerhurst Resort

only. You can bring in your own wine to be placed on tables during dinner. There is a corking fee of $25

per bottle plus 18% administrative fee.

What time can the bar stay open until?

Last call is at 1:30am and the bar closes at 2am. (Wedding packages include bar service until 1am

after which additional charges apply.)

Can shots and doubles be served to our wedding guests?

We do not permit shots or doubles during our special banquet events.

Do you have shuttles services for our wedding guests?

Shuttle service is provided onsite from your ceremony location to your reception venue. Should you

require a shuttle service for your guests into the Town of Huntsville, your Wedding Catering Manager

would be happy to provide recommendations for local vendors.

Do we need to provide our own sound equipment?

Many DJ companies supply their own equipment. If you require additional audio visual supplies, please

let your Wedding Catering Manager know and they will be happy to put you in touch with PSAV, our

onsite supplier.

Where can we find décor, entertainment, photographers and other wedding suppliers in Muskoka?

Your Deerhurst Resort wedding specialist can provide a list of local suppliers for easy reference.
