2. Visualize the lines that make up the knot a road or a ribbon. While you are drawing, each line will need to be

drawn double to make a fat line/ribbon/road that may be filled in with color.

3. You will begin by drawing in only one quarter of your paper that is still folded. The ribbons that you will draw to make your knot need to “end” on the folded side. The ribbons on the open sides of your paper need to loop around and stay closed.

Once your design is drawn, you now have two choices. a. Take your paper to the light table and trace the design on all four quadrants, making sure the edges match up.

b. Use a marker to trace your original image. Fold and refold your paper to trace your design on all four quadrants, making sure your edges match up.

The most impressive Celtic knots appear to have ribbons and roads winding around one another over and under the different sections.

Decide what parts will be on top and underneath, and fix your design to reflect this.
