1st IUGG Symposium on Planetary Science (IUGG-PS2017) Interdisciplinary observations and

understanding of Planetary Systems Dear Participants Planetary science is an increasingly interdisciplinary field of research propelled forward by advances

in space exploration and ground-based studies. Detailed characterization of planetary environments

within and beyond our Solar System requires collaborative studies across the fields of geology,

atmospheric science, geophysics, geodesy, seismology, aeronomy, planetary origins, chemistry and

    astrobiology.

The 1st IUGG Symposium on Planetary Science (IUGG-PS2017): Interdisciplinary observation and

understanding of Planetary Systems will be held on July 3-5, 2017, at the Institute for Planetary

Research of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin, Germany. As you can see from the

program the IUGG-PS2017 brings together international scientists and engineers focused on an

interdisciplinary work on exploration and science of planetary systems and seeking life beyond Earth.

The IUGG Union Commission on Planetary Sciences (UCPS), International Association of Planetary

Sciences (IAPS) and German Aerospace Center (DLR) sponsors the IUGG-PS2017. The Executive

Committee of International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) established the UCPS in June

2015 to advance emerging and existing interdisciplinary research on planetary sciences

Sincerely yours Prof. Shuanggen Jin Dr. Jörn Helbert

On behalf of the Scientific Organizing Committee

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee
