Assessment vs. Evaluation
• Often used interchangeably
• Two different concepts (We assess people and evaluate things)
• Assessment measures student learning. Determines rate or amount through informal and formal activities (observation, written test, record review, questioning)
• Evaluation judges significance/effectiveness/worth of the program.
