This preservative can be used in ECOCERT formulations (for products sold as ingredients), over natural glycerine until the end of December 2008 (1E56000 formulas).

The standard dose is in the range of 0.8 to 1%.

Product prohibited in Japan.Standard concentration 0.2%

POTASSIUM SORBATE:

INCI name: Potassium sorbate

Food preservative which can be used for cosmetics (if specific requirement is for a product free from paraben and thiazolinone salts). Ideal for fully natural plant extracts.

Dose 0.2% (up to 0.6%)

Take care! For some formulations, particularly floral waters, there are problems of solubility which condition the choice of preservative.

As phenonip is insoluble in water, it cannot be used for floral water formulations.
