Recommend the Board approve Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. tovolunteer at Pemberton Early Childhood Education Center for the 2020-2021school year.Handler and Therapy Dog will visit the children. The handler will answer thechildren's questions about their animals and the children are encouraged to readbook to the animals. This creates a positive interaction between the children andthe animal and encourages children to exercise their literacy skills. This is apositive enriched learning experience for the children. This event happens in theMedia Center during volunteer time; however some teachers have asked if thedogs can visit their classroom.Classrooms sign up to go to Media Center in advance. This will allow parentalpermission slips to be sent home to those classrooms scheduled when Bright andBeautiful Therapy dogs will be there. The nurse will be informed in the event wehave any allergies. Copies of insurance, shots, and registration will be on file atthe Pemberton Early Childhood Education Center for every therapy dog andhandler.
