John. Use colored pencils and different colors and symbols to mark these key words

in your Bible.

The key words in 1 John are:

Fellowship – green

Abide – orange

Sin – black

A look at the author of 1 John

(o you struggle with being certain of what you belie"e) *as the thrill of knowing

Jesus fi++led) ,hen the book of 1 John is for you- $e are going to ourney through

John/s firsthand account of knowing Jesus intimately.

,he author of John identified himself as 0,he (isciple Jesus !o"ed. *e was

commonly listed as one of Jesus/ three closest friends – 2eter3 James3 and John. John

was an outgoing3 bold man. *e wrote the #ospel of John3 43 443 and 444 John3 and the

book of 5e"elation. *e writes simply but with clarity and strong absolutes.

John didn/t ust walk with #od but he was a "isionary leader as he led the church in

6phesus and later the churches of Asia 7inor. 4t was his bold leadership that led to

his improisonment on the 4sland of 2atmos where he wrote the book of 5e"elation.
