Contribution…..$6,846.75 We are living today in a very different world. The
‘coronavirus scare’ has impacted all of us. Nothing like
this has happen in our country since the days of the
1918 influenza panic. I remember my grandmother
(the only grandparent I had still alive when I was born
– my mother’s mother) telling me stories about the
influenza panic of 1918. She was born in 1876 so she
was a mom with both adult children and small children
at home (she had a bunch of kids …large family size
runs in my mother’s family). According to ‘Ma Dial’, the
key to their survival was HOPE for a better day. That HOPE can only
be found in the Lord.
This morning I kick off a study on the life of Joseph and his great
HOPE. This study will continue as an ONLINE STREAMING Bible
class that I will offer each night at 7 on both my personal Facebook
page and the church’s Facebook page. You can view online on either
page.
Grab your Bible and please join me nightly at 7 as we study the life of
Joseph and his unquenchable HOPE for a better day. If you have
questions about how to get online or how to view either of the two
Facebook pages, please see Tim Togami. He’s the guy I always turn
to regarding technology questions.
This 7 pm nightly Bible study class will continue until we resume our
regular Bible study/worship times.
For those wishing to study in the morning time, I’m also hoping to
announce a morning Bible study online streaming class in the very
near future. Please let me know what time you would PREFER, and I
will do what’s best for the majority of the morning crowd.
Please remember …if you need anything (groceries, prescriptions,
other needs) please let us know. We want to serve! Please continue to
check on each other and let us know of any need.
On a different note, I remember a comment made by one of my Bible professors back when I was in school. He said, “Throughout the centuries, the greatest growth spurts for the Lord’s church has always happen during difficult times.” Through our examples of compassion and caring for our community during this difficult time, may we reflect the true spirit of Jesus so many more may come to know His saving power.

MARCH CONTACTS
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has
not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
70 West Family,
Some additional guidelines for those who desire to attend
services at the building on Sunday mornings:
1. Bring hand sanitizer
2. Leave an open row between you and the occupied row in front
of you, please don’t sit in taped off rows. This is to allow gloved
servers to pass down the rows and to be the only one’s
handling the communion trays.
3. Place used Fruit of the Vine cups in the holders on the pew
backs. They will be collected by a team after services.
4. Use your hand sanitizer before and after communion.
5. Collection plates will be placed at the exit doors for
contribution. Please place your contribution in one of the
baskets as you exit the auditorium.
6. We will have a smaller gathering than normal so come pre-
pared….. admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Col 3:16 In your strongest voice.
7. Again, if you have a fever or have had one in the last 7 days, a
cough, underlying health issues such as diabetes; heart disease;
lung disease; etc., are in a high risk age group; 50 and older or
are caring for someone in any of these risk groups; please stay
in your home except in emergency cases.
Again, if you are in a high risk group and have any needs
from outside the home: groceries, medications…etc. Please
reach out to the church office or one of the Elders and we
will see to it your needs are met.

Unto to Thee, oh Lord…
Psalm 25:1-3 states, “(A Psalm of David)- Unto
thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I
trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine
enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait
on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which
transgress without cause.” It is a fact that you
and I have been singing this portion of the 25th Psalm for many
years. It is a great source of encouragement. Let’s take a few
moments to explore this psalm further.
Notice some of the requests of David. In verses 4,5,6,7
and 20 , David pleads with God. He writes: show me, lead me,
remember, remember not, and deliver me. As David makes
these requests, he is showing the reader a contrast between
the king and the Lord. While David is the king of the land, God
is the King of Creation. God holds within His hand the authority
to regulate how mankind lives. David fully understands this
and says correct me to keep me holy in Your sight! What a
beautiful idea. May our prayer ever be: “Correct me to keep
my holy in Your sight!”
We need to understand WHO God will guide- the meek.
So often, we think that the words meek and weak are
interchangeable. They are not! Weak deals with physical
strength while meek deals mental toughness. The word
“meek” literally means “a tamed stallion.” That horse still has
the ability to knock us down and hurt us but the horse allows
the one with the reigns to dictate how he will act. The real
question is: “Who has my reigns?” Matthew 5:6- “Blessed are
the meek…”
Throughout this Psalm, David is consistently asking
God to forgive him and the nation of Israel. Think about his
mindset. Forgive me, first. Forgive us, secondly. David
understands that the changing of a nation begins with him. Not
because he is the king, but rather because he is a child of the
King! Real change to a nation happens when real change
happens in my life, then your life and then to others. If you
want to change the U. S., then change yourself to be more
faithful unto the Lord.
May God give us the courage to live the words we sing!
