The highlights & lowlights of my hometown:

1) It is the second oldest incorporated town west of the Mississippi River.2) Joseph Smith, first president & prophet of the Mormon Church was held as

a prisoner there in 1839 before westward trek.3) First successful daylight bank robbery in 1866 – James/Younger gang.4) From 1943-45, home of German/ItalianPOW camp housing 600 prisoners.5) Home of William Jewell College.
