bull Initiative established in 2010 with ICAO Assembly Resolution A37-19 ndash Para 11 ldquoaction plans should include information on the basket of measures considered by

States reflecting their respective national capacities and circumstances and information on any specific assistance needsrdquo

bull Reaffirmed support in 2013 with A38-18 and in 2016 with A39-2

ndash Para 11 ldquoInvites those States that choose to prepare or update action plans to submit them to ICAOrdquo and include ldquoquantified information on the expected environmental benefits from the implementation of the measures chosen from the basketrdquo

ndash Para 12 ldquoEncourages States that have already submitted action plans to share information contained in action plans and build partnerships with other member States in order to support those States that have not prepared action plans and to make the submitted action plans available to the public taking into account the commercial sensitivity of information contained in Statesrsquo action plansrdquo

bull Synergies between Statesrsquo Action Plans and CORSIA bull The data collection monitoring and reporting mechanisms developed for andor

used in the Action Plan could serve as a good starting point for necessary adjustments to fulfill CORSIA MRV requirements

bull Data collected through an CORSIA-compatible MRV system could be used for the Action Plan

bull States can showcase CORSIA voluntary participation in their Action Plans and draw upon the know-how and capabilities acquired from participating in a global scheme for the international aviation industry
