assignment pad or planner daily

• Be consistent• Build on first successes• Praise every effort for good

or improving grades• Contact teachers

Remember, “follow-through” is the key to a successful homework experience.

Most Common Homework Problems

• Does not do his or her best work• Refuses to do homework• Fails to bring homework home• Takes all night to complete assignments• Won’t do homework on his or her own• Waits until last minute to do homework• Won’t do homework if you’re not home• Your special problem

• Suggestions:– State expectations

– Check knowledge of materials and reading skills

– Work with classroom teacher

– Enforce mandatory homework time
