Group Members’ Names & Roles and Competition Deadline Chong Yu Qi- Designer, Angela Wong Siaw Chin- Designer, Kelly Cheng Chiali- Designer Aliaa Baharudin- Copywriter & Designer Competition Deadline: 7 June 2013 2. Poster Design Theme Our poster design theme is substance abuse. Our message is informing or making the public aware of the negative effects of drugs. We will be highlighted on the fact that drugs are highly addictive and harmful to a person’s body and mind, and even cause death. Also, our second message is informing the public that it is possible for an addict to recover and live a healthier lifestyle. It is never too late for anybody. 3. Description of Our Video Clip & How it Relates with Our Poster Design Theme Our video clip is about substance abuse by young adults. It begins with a boyfriend and girlfriend taking drugs and drinking alcohol excessively. Then it shows that the boy goes to a rehabilitation center where he suffers severe withdrawal syndromes. He vomits several times a day and craves for drugs and alcohol. He tries to replace his cravings with coffee and food. He plans to quit the treatment and leave the rehab center. However, suddenly his old drug addict friend visits him. His friend persuades him to stop trying to be better and hands him drugs. He takes the drugs and goes to his room. When he is about to snort the cocaine, he thinks about her. <Flashback: She didn’t start out to be an addict. She tries to stop him from taking drugs but he said it’s hard to quit. So she tries to prove to him that it’s easy to quit by taking drugs herself. She failed to quit and became addicted herself. She overdosed and dies> He doesn’t want to end up like her and decides to stay clean and sober for good. He throws away the drug. Manages to finish the treatment. He attends his graduation ceremony. As the theme for our poster is substance abuse, it will definitely relate to our video clip as it shares the same theme. We will also be including the major issues that were in our video clip into our poster, which is drug abuse causes death, however it is not too late for an addict to live a happier and healthier lifestyle. 4. Reasons Why We Do Not Need a Logo for Our Poster Design No, we do not need a logo because it is an awareness poster. The aim of our poster is to bring awareness to the public and not promoting a company’s product or service. Thus, our poster does not require a logo. 5. Sponsors’ for the Competition and Reasons Why We Need Their Logo NGO and Taylor’s University are the sponsors for the competition. Yes, we need to include their logo because the public needs to be aware who are the people sponsoring and involved in this poster. Also, by including the sponsors’ logo we will be help increase the sponsors’ brand image.

2. Poster Design Theme

Our poster design theme is substance abuse. Our message is informing or making the public aware of the negative effects of
