Hello Members and Hello Friends, It has been a busy month so far. Günter Braun was under the weather for some time with the flu and a cold typically for the winter season. I am so glad he is feeling better again. It is nice to see you at the dance. Anton Pichler was only for a few days in the hospital to have his heart repaired! Yes Tony was a super star, he was in and out of the hospital so fast and now he is dancing at the club already. Between you Tony and Don Fowler, you both make me wonder! It is nice to see Leni and Heinz come back down to St. Petersburg. Yet I was informed by Leni, she has to go back home and home is in Illinois by the end of February because of medical check-ups and appointments. Naturally Heinz will go back with her. Anyhow I am glad you both could come to Florida. We at the club enjoy your company. A quick update on Hayde! She is doing much better. Matter of fact, she and Herbert have come to the club for a couple of weeks already. Helen Sverak’s memorial was on Saturday January 24, 2015. A few of our members came to the Fountains Assisted Living Home to honor Helen. Thank you to all! Update on Helmut Beck! He is in the Apolo Nursing Facility now. Helmut is looking good and sure eats well. Best wishes to you Helmut. A hello is going out to Margot and George Carpenter. We love to see you at the club again. Please come and get your fill of Polka Music. And that should be it for this month. Please if you know of anyone being ill; give me call so the person can be acknowledged. Wishing you all a healthy and joyful Fasching season. Es ist des Menschen würdiger, Sich lachend über das Leben zu erheben, Als es zu beweinen. Um das Menschengeschlecht macht sich verdienter, Wer es belacht, Als wer darüber Tränen vergießt. Seneca
Your Sunshine Lady Ilse Greetings Members and Friends, I have the tickets for the Heritage Fest now. We are celebrating on March 22, 2015 a Sunday the Heritage Fest and on the Saturday before March 21, 2015 the Heimat Abend. The Festivities are taking place in Maitlands which is a few miles north of Orlando and before Casselberry. Sauerbraten or Jägerschnitzel will be served at the Heritage Day. Tick-ets are $25.00 for club members and $27.50 for non-members. We are reserving a bus again for the event which makes it a nice easy and comfortable ride to and from. We the German American Society Pinellas are asking for a $10.00 per person donation helping to defray the bus expenses. You can purchase the tickets on Saturday night during the dance or by calling me at: 727-527-6281. Please leave a message should I not answer in person. Your UGASF Delegate Ilse
