Japanese Programs ①Japanese Language Program (15 w/semester) @Shizuoka Campus and Hamamatsu CampusFive different levels of classes: ● Japanese 1 for beginners 3 classes/w Basic Japanese ● Japanese 2 for elementary learners 3 classes/w Elementary Japanese ● Japanese 3 for lower-intermediate learners 3 classes/w Reading & Grammar, Listening & Vocabulary, Writing & speaking ● Japanese 4 for upper-intermediate 3 classes/w Reading & Grammar, Listening & Vocabulary, Writing & speaking ● Japanese 5 for advanced learners 2 classes/w Integrated Japanese *JP4 & JP5 are not offered in the Hamamatsu campus.
2. Japanese Programs ① Japanese Language Program (15 w/semester) @Shizuoka Campus and Hamamatsu Campus
◎1 class is 2 hours×15 weeks = 30 contact hours/semester
◎You can also attend classes of one level higher or lower than your level. (For example, if your level is Japanese 3, you can attend JP2 and JP4 as well as JP3.)
◎Academic credits are offered to the students who successfully completed the course.

Japanese Programs②Japanese Course for Graduates (Intensive Course) (15 w/semester) @Shizuoka Campus Course for beginners 3 classes/day ⇒15 classes/w - Basic Japanese ( 10 classes/w ) - Conversation ( 1 class/w ) - Listening ( 1 class/w ) - Writing ( 1 class/w ) - Kanji ( 1 class/w ) - Orientation to Japan ( 1 class/w )
◎Academic credits are not offered, but you can get the credits of UofA with our transcript and certificate.
I took the Japanese intensive course because I wanted to quickly improve my Japanese language skills. The course teachers were very helpful and I was able to learn so much about Japanese language and culture as well. I enjoyed the program and recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their Japanese! :)

(Not in April)・2 classes/day ⇒10 classes/w - Textbook (4 classes/w) - Science Japanese (1 class/w) - Conversation (1 class/w) - Listening (1 class/w) - Writing (2 classes/w) - Rapid reading (1class/w)

2.Japanese Programs④General Education (15 w/semester) @Shizuoka Campus and Hamamatsu Campus・ Advanced Japanese classes for degree undergraduate international students as a part of the general education, but open to exchange students ・ Japanese language Ⅱ ・Ⅳ・Ⅵ (starting in Oct.) ・ Japanese language Ⅰ ・Ⅲ ・ V (starting in April) ・ Japanese Culture (starting in April.)

4. Academic Courses・ You are accepted as a student of one of the faculties.・ Most of the academic courses of general education and the various faculties are open to exchange students.・ Some courses are instructed in English・ Decide which courses to take under the guidance of your advisor.

Ⅱ. Life in Shizuoka1. Accommodations
Most of the exchange students live in the International Residence (\5,900 ~ 23,000). Dormitories and apartments (↑\30,000)are also available. International Residence ( ~ March 2016 )

2. Student Life・ Various support from International Center・ Academic advisor and personal tutor・ Counseling service in English and Health Services Center・ Many kinds of exchange activities ・ Field trips and study tours・ Volunteer Students available・ All kinds of extracurricular activities
3. Fund: ●Scholarship of JASSO (Japanese Student Services Organization) About 25 exchange students for 2015 coming to Shizuoka University can get this scholarship. ・ Monthly Allowance: About ¥80,000 ・ Tenure of Scholarship : 12 months

Fees and Costs ・ Tuition : waived. ・ National Health Insurance ¥20,000/year ☆The coverage most advantageous ☆ 70% of medical expenses can be reimbursed. ・ Student Insurance ¥2,000/year ☆Indemnifies students from any injuries during any academic or social programs or extracurricular activities at the university. ◎Monthly cost: Accommodation: ¥5,900 ~ 30000 Food expenses: \30,000 ~ → \90,000~ in total
