Contracts Deployment Program (UDP) (345 Marines)
Senior Level Working Group Exception Recommendations 3 Oct 2013
Property National Security: activities necessary to continue recruiting for entry into the Armed Services during contingency operations ... and to conduct basic and other training necessary to qualify such recruited personnel to
form their assigned duties. Education and Training: education and training necessary to
icipate in or support excepted activities.
1Acqu~s~tion and ~ogistics Support: Contracting, contract administration, and logistics operation in support of excepted activities; ISO training and other operational exercises required to prepare for and carry out military operations; activities required.to contract for and to distribute items as authorized by the Feed and Forage Act; Central receiving points for storage of supplies and materials purchased prior to the shutdown.
Initial Entry-Level MCRD San Diego and MCRD Parris Island, Officer Candidates School and The Basic School, Quantico, VA, follow on initial MOS skill qualification training conducted at the Schools of Infantry at Camp LeJeune, NC and Camp Pendleton, CA, and follow-on initial
itary Occupational Specialty schools at Formal Learning Centers on USMC and other service installations throughout the country, are the lifeblood of the Marine Corps. THe ability to continue to transform civilians into basically trained Marines, their followon combat training, and the initial training
fying them to serve in the occupational ~p~c~alties (jobs) they have been assigned to
critical to ensuring Marines are le to support assigned missions. An to fund these activities is crucial
avoiding the disruption of the USMC and staffing models. Even minor
lays in the accession pipeline between recruiting and arrival at first duty station may cause an inability to carry out all assigned Marine Corps
that support movement and storage of personal items of single Marines from Marine Special Operations Battalions scheduled to
oy with the Unit Deployment Program. Personal items are stored for these Marines, while on deployed status, since barracks are scheduled to be used by re-deploying Marines returning from current deployments.
