Thank you John Powers

We are grateful for John’s leadership and dedication to economic development in the central Puget Sound region. With his passionate approach to economic development, John has been a steadfast advocate for Kitsap County.

John served as Mayor of Spokane, and Executive Director of both enterpriseSeattle and KEDA. Through his efforts, John helped guide the development of the three major regional economic strategy efforts in 2005, 2012, and 2017.

Scope of Work Details• Regional Recovery Coordination

Support coordination of disaster economic recovery efforts across the region. Building off existing local efforts to identify and develop regional recovery projects. Help identify funding opportunities to implement projects. Integrate recovery work into the new regional economic strategy.

• Industry Targeted Economic Recovery and Resiliency PlanningDevelop industry specific, action-oriented, disaster recovery and resiliency plans. Industries identified for resiliency plan development with these funds:

EDA CARES Act Funding Recommended Actions

Recommended Actions

• Action 1: Amend the Adopted Budget and Work Program for Fiscal Years 2020-2021 to add up to an additional $400,000 in funds contingent upon approval from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and PSRC’s Executive Board.

• Action 2: Authorize the Executive Director to initiate one or more consultant contracts for pandemic recovery and resiliency work as described below, not to exceed $250,000.
