2. Use a natural moisturiser, preferably with a natural zinc oxide spf
Using a natural daily moisturizer containing zinc oxide for spf protection
will do your skin the world of good for future anti aging. The sun protection
will prevent UV aging and assist in softening the skin, which also softens
fine lines. Finding the right texture to suit your skin is important as well, to
balance moisture levels throughout the day.
Nine Natural Beauty Rituals
1. Drink lemon water first thing in the morning
This is a change of pace for a lot of people in the morning as
coffee is generally the favored first thing to reach for, but
making this a habit by boiling the jug and squeezing half a
lemon into that cup on route to the shower makes new habit
forming easier. You will feel more hydrated and revitalized
straight up before you rush into your day. It will also give your
liver and kidneys that head start cleanse for the day,
especially if you’ve had a wine the night before. It can also
set up your water intake throughout the day if you do this
ritual first thing.

3. Dry body brush
This is a great thing to do as often as you can. It’s probably unrealistic
to get to it every day, as our working weeks can be very busy, but
making it a ritual on a day you go into work a bit later, or on
weekends will really help combat dry skin, cellulite and assist the
body to detox. That small extra effort of keeping your body brush next
to the shower and actually brushing yourself for 5 minutes (seriously
that’s all it takes, max) will make a huge difference to your skin.
4. Use a serum!
Now if you’re serious about anti aging or any skin
condition you wish to correct a serum is a must! More so
than your protective moisturizer a serum is usually a
higher concentration of ingredients designed to penetrate
deep into the skin addressing those concerns in the
epidermis where they begin. Be careful when choosing
natural serums, a lot of them can be an oil base with
essential oils added, especially from the health food store.
If you prefer a lighter texture than an oil base there is a
large range of professional serums available from
professional beauty salons that are also petrochemical
free. Just ask your local salon!

6. Try cleansing with oil
Cleansing with oil does not leave you skin oily. Even if you have oily skin! Who knew?! The truth is oil attracts oil so
using an oil cleanser is an effective way of cleaning your skin without stripping it. An oil cleanser is not likely to
contain sulphates and other petro chemical ingredients if you’re not ingredient label savvy. They effectively clean
leaving your skin soft, balanced and hydrated. In fact, using an oil cleanser in the evening is often enough
hydration without needing the use of heavy moisturizes, which allows the skin to naturally breathe and repair while
you sleep. Oil cleansers are
easily accessible at most health
food stores, beauty salons and
online. Refer to Natural Beauty
Expert site for some of the best
online retailers who carefully
scrutinize each product that they
sell. Finding toxic free quality
products is not hard when you
have an easy guide on where to
look.
5. Eat fat
We all have heard the old adage about drinking more water for
your skin. This is completely true, to a degree. We are
predominately made up of water, so staying hydrated is
important (see drinking lemon water point) but our cells also
need fat, to stay well lubricated and plump. This also plumps out
those wrinkles from the inside out! Your skin will be less dry and
scaly and your body is healthier for it! To clarify which fat, it’s the
healthy saturated fat you find in avocado, salmon, eggs and
butter that you need. There is a tonne of new medical evidence
out there to support that a high fat diet with plenty of fresh fruits
and vegetables is the best way to eat. Our bodies thrive on fat;
even our brain is 70% fat, bringing a new meaning to the term
fat head! Easy to incorporate into any diet, there are plenty of
healthy cookbooks available to get great recipes from. Some
easy suggestions are avocado on spelt toast, salmon for dinner
a few times a week, and cook in coconut oil. All super quick and
easy for the busiest people!

7. Smile ☺
Smile and the world smiles with you, it also takes a quarter of the muscles in
your face to smile than frown, that’s a huge saving on botox! It also makes your
life easier, when your mindset is geared to the positive life runs more smoothly
rather than when you’re grumpy. It’s important to be mindful of where our
thoughts are throughout the day, catching your thoughts when they start to
dwell on problems will make life much easier. Taking time out to relax, re-
connect, do something for yourself is important to your health, and when your
body is healthy it can wipe years off your face. Your life really is written all over
your face.
8. Take a probiotic
Beauty starts from the inside so it’s important to have proper digestive health and function, taking a good probiotic
will help you achieve this. Don’t forget our skin is our largest detoxifying organ in our body so what goes into the
body shows up on the skin. I use and recommend the maintianME supplements through Sunlighten Saunas, you
can find them on Natural Beauty Expert site along with information on infrared saunas and their health benefits.
9. Use eye cream
The eyes are the windows to our soul and they also are the part
of the body that ages us the quickest. A good eye cream is
essential, there are good natural options available out there, but
like your serum you may want to ask your local beauty salon or
day spa for their recommendations. The eye area is delicate
and you don’t want to weigh it down with too much product so a
good water based eye makeup remover and a light eye cream
are essential. This will assist with fine lines, and prevent milia
(those hard white balls under the skin) from forming.
